Cherry ripe and fresh, and infused with pepper, this developed a rich and warming texture and flavours of chocolate. While unmoved by the heat, I found the sweetness a little too dominant so ultimately this disappointed. CHP 88 pts

Pure red fruits dominate the nose and palate - cherries, strawberries - alongside hints of oak spice and smokey toast and a little tertiary development. The palate is full with 14% alcohol, but the acidity keeps it fresh with a medium+ finish. Fine medium tannins. Very enjoyable and paired very well with the gamey dishes we ate with it at the excellent Bistro Christophe in Bruges, Belgium.
