Terre di Talamo Morellino di Scansano Tempo Riserva

85% Sangiovese, 10% Alicante e 5% Cabernet. Medium garnet. Ripe red cherry, earth, tomato leaf, dried herbs, savory spices, toasted almond, sweet baking spices. Aged six months in barriques and then one year in bottle prior to release. Palate is dry, consistent with the nose, with med acid, med, resolved tannins, med (+) alcohol (actually 14%). Rather tasteless with cloying mouth feel - not to my liking

Fine. Didn't live up to my expations.. Cherry, some terroir, but not much. Short finish....

It was OK. This one had a little more acid and less fruit than I've had with other Morellinos that I've liked better (eg Grillesino).

Starting to hit its peak.

Dark cherry and slight cocoa to the nose. Sweet cherry vanilla and slight oak to the palate. Nice acids light tannins with a med finish. Decanted for one hour consumed over two. Opened up a great deal in glass.

Medium body, round, herbal, earthy

Not consistant with other Morelleneos that I've had, but a tasty wine nonetheless. Big cherry fruit with some vanilla, a hint of raspberry and acidity on the finish. Probably not an ager, but it's pretty darn tasty right now.

Tasted OK yesterday, but on day 2 is devoid of flavor and a little sharp.
