very enjoyable! deep and very opaque red colour in the glass and slow to uncoil… gentle whiffs of crushed lavender, blackberries, bay leaf and wet stone wafted up from the glass. at first rather dry on the palate, but with time in the glass the mouthfeel was juicier. full-bodied in feeling (at only 13.5%!) with a delightful acidity pervading the peeling layers of fruit, herb, wood and stone that carry into a long lively finish. plenty of structure and flavour …
