Ripe fruity and spicy nose with also some chocolate. Very rich mouth. Mature tannins, finishes as chocolate covered cherries. No longer has any impression of elegance that I seem to have gotten from it many years ago.

Deep ruby red in the glass. Typical Old World nose reflecting terroir and production methods nicely - aromas of wet soil, marzipan, cooked plum, blackberry jam and cedar. Cherry nose, surprisingly higher pitched than I was expecting. Good mouth feel. Pleasant acidity with a long finish. Usually I'm sensitive to heat, but not sensing it here despite the 15% ABV. Not a particularly complex wine, but everything is well balanced, and even a bit more elegant than I was expecting, particularly in the nose. Still, a bit pricey for what it delivers.

A big wine with deep colours, scents, and flavours. Heady nose of cooked red and black fruits, but not confected. Some savoury notes, with some anise, spice, chocolate, and violets. Palate is quite similar to the nose, good acidity and reasonable tannins, though the finish was a bit disappointing compared to the rest. Lovely wine, though I feel a certainly complexity is lacking. Uncertain as to ageing potential.

Deep ruby core, slight pinkish rim. Youthful. On the nose, ripe red and dark fruit, vanilla, oak, caramel, dark chocolate, meaty note. On the palate, similar to the nose with baking spice, such as clove, cinnamon, licorice. Valvety tannins that have softened quite a bit since last time I tasted in 2010. Smooth, well balanced and elegant. Good price to quality ratio. At peak. Drink within 3 to 5.

Good clean nose. Taste kinda "luxurious" with some, but not too much, toastiness from the oak, dark fruit and some menthol in the finish. Great smoothness in the mouth. The alcohol reveals itself as the temperature rises, so don't serve it too warm. Probably needs food to show it's best, worked well with steak and salad.

Really nice bottle. Full bodied with a very silky mouthfeel. Can definitely taste the fruit, but wouldn't say it's fruit forward. At 15%, it's a bit alcoholic but has a nice leanness to it that the alcohol content wouldn't suggest.

La robe est pourpre. Le nez de ce vin est assez intense sur les petits fruits noirs et rouges, des notes vanillées, pointes d'épices. Awesome, powerful and intense wine, reminded me a bit of a high-end Zin with it's extreme berry fruit and high alc. (a touch off balance at this point and needs time) - Dark, well concentrated with a nose of blackfruit, blueberry, boisson berry, cranberry, plum, cherry and vanilla, intense, needs time, quite complex/interesting, sweet, sour on the palate with terrific length, excellent (91 Points).
