Dark ruby red. Layered nose with some herbal nuances, dark cocoa, dark raspberries and dustiness. Medium tannins (6/10) with a medium plus body. Dark palate with crushed gravel, aniseed, blackberries, baking spices, dark cherries and a like earthiness. Long finish. Drink till 2026.

Friends shared this at their 8/18/18 tasting group dinner. It had a rich expressive bouquet of black currant, blackberry, mocha, cocoa, sage, herb and spice aromas. The palate was rich, dense and balanced with flavors that followed the nose.

Chalk on the nose with dust N6 more integrated than 4 and definitely more ready to enjoy. Both have metallic steel B very similar but 3 is integrated and smoother B 90

Third of the four blind wines from Maloney Wines. Every single vintage, Joshua picks a different vineyard to make a 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from. In 2012, their inaugural vintage, it was the Elephant Mountain Vineyard in the Rattlesnake Hills AVA. Dark ruby red in appearance. A bit herbal on the nose with some mint, followed up by some dark cocoa, dark raspberries and dusty cherries. Medium tannins (6/10) with a medium plus body. Rich palate with dark gravel, anise, dusted …

I had this after dinner on 11/2/16. It was poured through the vinturi into the decanter, where it sat for an hour and a half before I started drinking. It had a deep, brooding bouquet of cassis, blackberry, burnt toast, mocha, cocoa, black olive, herb and spice aromas. The palate was rich, dense, tight and a little sweet with flavors of cassis, blackberry, black cherry, burnt toast, char, mocha, cocoa, herb and spice.

Maybe you call it cheating but the 6 hour decanting seems to have made this perfect. Mellow and smooth. Drinks beautifully. Very light nose with a hint of cassis with seems traditional of the fruit lacking nose of Washington wines. I think this has a window of 5 to 8 years.

Tasting Note: Before trying the wine I had it open for a 6 hour decant. The color is a dark opaque red and is not cloudy at all. The nose has a light hint of cassis near the middle to end, and some chalk. Additionally as the wine aired a little longer (around hour 7 or 8) some cherry notes began to appear in the nose. Within the palate there are some moderate plus rounded tannins, which lead to moderate …
