This was Ruby colored, medium bodied, bright vibrant expressive fruits of dark berry, plum and cherry with notes of leather, spice, cassis, earth, herbs and cedar with moderate tannins on the lingering finish. This was suitable for a pizza and some artisan cheeses for casual weekend sipping. https://unwindwine.blogspot.com/2023/02/paring-california-red-bordeaux-blend.html

Note: I use the recommended scale, so 85 represents a very good wine. Nice Calif, cab blend. A bit chocolaty upon opening, reasonably well-balanced through the bottle.

Literally purchased by accident as it was on the counter next to other purchases and the merchant mistakenly rang it up and didn't realize until I got home. For $25.00 easier to keep it than return it. A pleasant surprise. Dark purple color, chewy, good balance, medium tannins, with red fruits and vanilla. Surprisingly enjoyable PNP with very good QPR.

Dark color, nice bouquet, 14.5% ABV, full body, nicely balanced with good structure, great fruit but nicely balanced so it was never grapey, drank with strip steak at AC restaurant, $66 on wine list, would drink again.

Fatastic value. Unreal depth for the price. Not hugely structured for the long haul but drinking quite nicely now and, presumably, for at least a few more years.

The color is a rich inky red with slow legs. The aroma of this wine has character with full fruit black cherries with notes of toasty tobacco. Smooth flavor of sweet plum with well rounded savory tannins makes this wine very delightful to drink. Medium to full finish. ( 50% Cabernet, 20% Cabernet Franc, 20% Merlot, 10% Petit Verdot)

i popped and pour and you can tell its a well made wine...seems tight across palate no flab... all our palates in different places...solid acid kinda zingy on the tannins...cherry skins, raspberry seeds on finish, quite well done...means business no excess weight...tannins got some grit...yeah its solid stuff might crack their chard perhaps...smooth almost milky texture before the acid kicks in...peat smoke, but that palate almost weightless...really polished but the fruit is great...kinda homogenized, almost taste like everything else, one sided cali maybe …

Easy to drink, well-made, correct, but ultimately fairly dull. BDX blend aromas of cassis, cedar, tobacco, licorice and spice. Fairly extracted, but soft with integrated tannins. Dark fruited flavors, chocolate, earthy, med/low acidity. Comes across muddled on the finish. Drink now. R thought it was slightly corked, but I couldn't corroborate.

Good QPR but not my style. Big, extracted fruit bomb that should be dessert. Nice flavor profile as others have described below, but just too much for my taste.

One hour slow ox. Very deep ruby magenta color(more ruby than magenta). Anise, plum, blackberry, amaretto cookie, and dark chocolate on the nose. Smooth, dry palate, with nice acidity. Firm tannins on the longish finish. This is pretty sophisticated for the price point.

Pretty bright red fruit to the nose. Kinda beautiful black cherry fruit here. And maybe some green notes too. And great texture on the palate as well. That is delicious wine. Good energy. Super tasty with that pretty lift of green.

15.2% abv. Recent auction purchase. Did not try this in its youth, but this is no longer the fruit bomb that it once was, based on reading the older notes. This was actually drinking quite nicely, with the once boisterous fruit fading into a more elegant presentation. Not really any overt oak left at this point, if it indeed did have some (a 2012 I tasted a couple of years ago was way too oaky for my palate). Flavor profile …

Some California samples : Dark purple color. Aromas of sweet black cherries, roasted figs, blueberry, topped in root beer, sweet cocoa and anise. Full-bodied on the palate, smooth tannins, medium/low acidity. This is a burly, wintry night kind of wine with extracted blueberry, roasted fig and plum cake. Lots of cedar, cocoa, vanilla, some charcoal and earthy tones. Bold but very tasty. Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, aged 22 months in 55% new French oak.

This wine has aged fantastically. Dark fruit and dark chocolate with just a tinge of coffee and dark chocolate. Smooth, full body, fantastic mouthfeel with fine tannins. If only every wine would complete itself over 11 years I wouldn't touch any for this long.

Popped and poured through Venturi. Dark red. Decent aromas of dark red fruits. Very big wine. Lots of forward fruit which is encapsulated by mildly bitter greenish tannins. Finish is long but slightly bitter. If this were a craft beer, I would say the hops were great, but being red wine, I would say....let it sit awhile and see if the tannins soften and the fruit integrate.

No formal notes. Nice wine. I would be more complimentary if I had bought in California for $25. However in Canada at $45, I am expecting more. Fairly one dimensional. No complaints but I would not run out to buy again.

A lot of really good things happening with this wine. Decanted for short time, but got better with more time. Red fruits, including pomegranate and cherry. Great use of oak to blend with the bright fruit and to balance the beautiful acids. Fine sweet tannins on the medium plus finish. Wonderful qpr.

This wine was splash-decanted and serially tasted over two hours. The robe is opaque crimson and the nose shows moderately intense aromas of black currants, tree bark, anise and damp earth. Full-bodied on the palate, with low acidity, generous sweet tannins and somewhat excessive alcohol (listed as 15.2%). The palate shows very ripe black fruit flavors, with sweetness likely secondary to the alcohol. The middle is full and the medium-length finish is sweet and hot (no jokes, guys). This is …

Wow. Nice QRP. Rich dark color. The nose kinda defines the look in the glass. Get some deep dark red fruit, ripe raspberry, fat overripe chandler strawberries drizzled with road tar, hot Cali afternoon. Great mouthfeel as the wine develops on the palate, red and blue fruite compote, balanced acid and tannins come along. Get that gravely finish that KC hits. Oak is integrated nicely, finish of bright fruits and some secondary flavors slightly there. Like this a lot more …
