Popped and poured, allowed to open up in the glass for some 20 minutes. Somewhat reticent on the nose, but what comes through is a nice floral scent with red berries, a slight hint of beetroot. The palate is beetrooty, earthy, good tannins, quite acidic, quite a lot of taste, can't say this is watery, rather nice, but needs food to go with it. A nice enough Burgundy, probably should have left it for another 5 years before popping.

Floral and mineral smell with violets, limestone, raspberry and herbs. Palate is tight and tannic and somewhat strenuous. The smokiness from oak dominates the taste at first, but the fruit gets eventually through. Aftertaste is decent, but a bit hollow. Not a badly made wine, but presently closed.
