White roses, lemon, pear, waxy, subtle cheese, zesty and vibrant. High acidity, low alcohol 10.5%, medium plus flavour intensity, medium plus finish. pure, balanced and juicy. Very delicious and refreshing. A perfect summer white!

{screwcap, 10.7%} Cam is spot on. Smoke, hint of citrus, grass, pear. A steeliness to the nose. Flavour is dry, light, but luscious and persistent. Medium high acid, no oak, of course. Talc, pear, grass flavours. Oh-so-drinkable. Only a little off primary character, should age nicely for another 5-8 years at least.

Smoke, lemon, graphite, pear and straw. Palate is fresh with plenty of acid drive, good texture and carry, really nice balance and poise at this intermediate stage of its life.

I’m hoping that somehow Thommo has misbottled his SSB… surely this isn’t 100% braemore? The nose and palate has a tropical streak of passionfruit that reeks of sav blanc. Very strange. Not fussed on this.

Wow! Beautiful fruit, long, intense. Unmistakably Hunter Semillon - steely, mineral flavours, still very vibrant and fresh acidity - does not taste like a 12 year old wine! A lot of life still in it, yet, the fresh, citrusy and grassy aromas slowly give way to additional complexity, a more mellow and round mouthfeel and pear flavours. Bautiful!! My only regret is that this is the last bottle and I would Love to see the wine’s development over the next …

Appearance: pale lemon Nose: medium intensity; aromas of smoke, lemon, lime, green apple, sweet pineapple, toast, subtle honey, a little waxy. It’s developing. Palate: dry, high acidity, medium minus alcohol, medium minus body, medium plus flavour intensity, pineapple comes through. The finish is medium plus. Overall, it’s a very good wine. Light/medium yellow colour showing only a hint of age. Slightly aged citrus on the nose with a note of honey. Nice mouthfeel, full of lemon and lime with a lingering fresh long finish. A lovely example of mid-aged Hunter semillon

Hunter Valley - 3 Cellar Doors (Hunter Valley) : {screwcap} Grassy and herbal. Seems lighter and younger than a decade old. Broader palate though, dusty texture, medium acid, medium weight, long finish, although not that nuanced really. Grassy though. A bit in between. More time won’t hurt I don’t think. Not quite hitting the mark at the moment.

I was a bit disappointed with this wine. Though it has a citrusy aroma, the mouthfeel is heavy, almost syrupy, and the finish is sharp like biting into grapefruit peel. Surprisingly the finish also shows notes of retsina and iodine. A bit overwheming all in all.

Pale yellow with some gree hints. Lovely lifted lemongrass and citrus notes with a touch of toast. Palate is medium bodied with good depth of fruit and a lovely long fresh finish. Not a super long ager I think probably reach its peak in another 5 years. Lovely modern style hunter semillon

Bright golden straw colour. Strong lemon nose starting to fill-out and develop richness. Full of crisp lemon flavour that lingers in the mouth. Dry finish with strong acid on the back palate. A fresh crisp white to start pre-Christmas lunch. I would expect this wine to age well for the next few years.

Straw yellow, with a fleck of green in colour; citrus blossoms, lemon curd and freshly toasted bread on the nose. The palate is precise and focused, with tightly coiled citrus and balanced, yet piercing acidity. The finish has superb depth, with length of crisp and clean citrus fruits. Wine-Ark Cellar Club Tasting 11 - December 2009. Christmas drinks (Roof Terrace Australian Museum) : Nose: Fresh grass, some lime and grapefruit, citrus in general in fact. some top notes of green apple Mouth: mild acidity, almost sauvignon blanc style green and unripeness. Perhaps harvested a little too young? For me not a good example of a Hunter Valley Semillon. Nah.
