Note: I use the recommended scale on which 85 represents a very good wine. Similar TN to 2017. Has faded little since then. Drink 'em if you got 'em.

just a bit past its prime drinking age, very slight oxidation on the nose and minimal hints of oxidation on the palate. Color was ruby red with the variation around the rim a very very light brown

Deep ruby color. Not much on the nose but some fruit (blueberries) and a hint of cream de cassis on the mid palate. On th downside of the curve

Cherries, chocolate, and leather. It’s aged very well. Tannins are about gone. Drank with spaghetti .

Probably past peak, dark fruit overshadowed by green peppery oak that turns a little bitter.

poured a bit into decanter ,chocolate, herbs and leather, coffee liquor, sweet earth, tertiary too,the part not decanted showing more raspberry, cherry, the cork crumbled and I'm still in slight disbelief we managed to get the last 1/4 out in one piece leaving the wine intact, thick and creamy with some gentle acid still, 50% Cab, 35% Merlot, 9% Petit Verdot and 6% Malbec,14.9%

Note: I use a scale on which 85 represents a very good wine. Day 1, very much a fruit prominent California cab (not a problem for me). Day 2, more like a Bordeaux (which is a bit heretical for me, but so what), but the fruit had receded and the wine was singing a different tune. Great bottle.

Remarkably good. Rather opaque reddish, turbid color. First day had heightened acidity but nice character and a good linear quality. By the 2nd day had smoothed out and added depth and darker fruit; really humming. Drank 1/2 the first day; disposed of the remainder from a 375ml on the 2nd day. Needs a decant and air.

A great balance between quality, age, and price. Not great, but so much more than what can be had from California for this price. Opens up on the nose with a slight heat that wafts off gradually. There is a distinct raisin, prune, stewed fruit quality that turns into deep black fruit with time. There is some distinct tobacco and spice box aromas. On the palate, at first, are again stewed fruits with some cola; there's a thick black fruit …

My tasting group's WOTN back in fall 2007, I believe. In a Eurocave since; drunk over 4 hours. Showing its age, but maybe has a little left in it as it transitions nicely from fruit to spice to tannin. Color is still bright, garnet/purple with some brown showing. Nose has cab barnyard present but still good blackberry/plum with spice and oak at the end. Good body and hits the palette with good blend before a hint of oak. Paired very …

Great QPR. Good fruit and finish for $25. Just enough tannins. Went well with Italian beef sandwiches. Too bad they no longer get the fruit they used for the Mountain cuvée. The Cervantes blend that replaces this is nowhere near as good.

Needed one hour of decanting before opening up, paired well with steak. Was a different wine after decanting, cherry and spice. Better than reviews I read. Still some tannins will try next bottle in 2014 or 2015

Blueberry, cherry, spice. Hands down one of the best noses of any wine I've ever had. Excellent flavor. I'm ranking this so high because I believe it's value is far above its price point.

Very young, showing lots of big, ripe fruit and plenty of oak influence. There's a lot to like, but this needs time to settle down and integrate a bit. Try again in 2 years. I purchased my bottle for $25, and it's a good value at that price. I've seen it as high as $35 and feel that's overpriced for what's in the bottle.

Best QPR in Napa. Luscious vanilla and cherry. Tannins good but not overdone. Had this after the Big Red tasting in Lake Barrington. Not as good as some of the cabs there, but for half or quarter the price, a steal.

Quite consistent with the 2004 vintage. The same dark purple color with a dense, earthy nose. Medium-bodied with a velvety, buttery texture featuring flavors of red and black currants, tobacco, cocoa, and spice. Very elegant and impressive in every way. The finish was quite round and well-balanced. Drink from 2009 to 2016.

Rather deep color. ... Cabernet, Merlot, Petite Verdot and Malbec. ... Nose of butter, woodsmoke, soil. ... Bittersweet chocolate, some cream, meat marinade on palate. ... Subsequent glass had saltwater taffy and charcoal notes. ... A young, pleasant drinking wine.

This is a perfectly fine 90 point wine. Not sure if there is any Pritchard Hill juice in this but excellent bordeaux blend nonetheless. Nice round tannins and smoky earthy loamy chalk. Foral cedar and spice box with good raspberry. A touch young and a touch green. hung out perfectly fine with a big piece of nice steak (filet).

Briefly decanted. A bit young, sweet blueberry, mixed berry, juicy cassis, red cherry juice, cotton candy. Well-made, medium-bodied; good complexity for a $25 wine. Should improve marginally over the next 12-18 months.

I give this a 90 because it was a really solid CA cab-based wine with a really good QPR. Too often at this price point you get those oak bombs that I can't stand.

Drank with no decant. There was no mistaking the Napa roots in this one. Tannins that are still a few years from completely resolving, with sweet oak, vanilla, eucalyptus, and dark fruits. Yum! Drink now or hold a few more years.
