Maison Harbour, Gevrey-Chambertin, La Justice

Faded tawny colour; quiet bouquet, not much on show; underpowered, near flavourless; washed out. Drink up.

Very similar to prior note- only additional note is that it developed a “meatier” Gevrey profile on the second night this time. Wonderful structure- need to leave the others to develop- but it’s hard as there’s so much pleasure here!

Very light red. Cascades of red fruit and berries on the nose. At first sweet ind the mouth - strawberry and spice. Full-bodied with beautiful balance. Alcohol dampened. Loooong aftertaste. Fantastic wine.

Clear ruby Needs time and air. On initial opening this was quite rustic and hard to place With time it fleshes out with nice cherry fruit and some orange notes. Not too weighty, but juicy and delicious with air.

I just had to try this as the only cuvee I bought that we didn’t get the chance to try in the winery. So glad I did, as this is a sensational iteration of La Justice by Nicholas and Colleen! On day one there’s depth of GC flavours but a lightness and verticality, a spritely acidity and minerality that lifts this above my already high expectations. Pale; intriguing medicinal tinged bouquet; underpowered palate, lacing presence; finish lacks focus. There was more to it a couple of years ago.

Bright fruit and balance. This is a really nice wine right now even if it is a baby. My rational side says wait on this a few years, but I think the impulsive side might win and I will drink the others early as it is too good right now to wait.
