Nickel & Nickel Cabernet Sauvignon Bear Track Vineyard

Tasted as part of Blind Napa Flight #2. Basil, bay leaf, pepper, a big wine, highly structured but still has the N&N lusciousness. My 1st out of 5 favorite, group's least favorite!

This wine/vintage hints at great potential but is still evolving. The nose reveals blackberry, cassis, cedar, and subtle herbal notes. On the palate, firm tannins frame dark fruit, with touches of espresso and minerality reflecting the volcanic soils. The wine’s structure and acidity are promising, but the mid-palate feels a bit reserved, and the finish is persistent yet slightly sharp.
