Cascina 'Tavijn Ruchè di Castagnole Monferrato

I was able to get a couple of hours of decant time into this before starting, the nose has the very interesting herbaceous, forest floor ambiance that ruche presents. The palate began with sage, light cherry and dried leaves with tart acidity and muscular tannins. Quite special wine. I prette much follow the previous taster of this wine. However, it came a bit more to my taste although it suffers a bit from too high alcohol.

Smells like a dark-red gewurz... if you follow? Massive rosewater aromas over botti-aged black cherry and raspberry fruit, with a dash of nail polish remover. Quite a full-bodied red, a bit rustic in character, with moderate acidity, prominent drying tannins and a warm, alcohol-driven finish. Fun to try, and truly special, but it didn't win our hearts or tastebuds.
