This is much better integrated that when I first tasted this a year and a half ago. Fresh berries and cream on the nose. On the palate, a lot of ripe fruit -- dark berries, plum, tobacco, roasted meat, with a decent length finish with still quite a bit of tannin and some heat. This just isn't my style. I love their Imposter, but this seemed to have too much viognier mixed in. Nice balance with dark spicy fruit, but the finish seemed off which I believe is due to the viognier. I will buy more JC cellar wines...just not this one.
