Delicious wine. Nose of flowers, citrus and spice. Flavors of citrus, jasmine, apple, pear, spice and very good acidity. We had it solo but I would love to have it with food (seafood,.cheese, etc). Drink now but will age too

Quick notes, since it was a bottle brought to a restaurant - New grape, new region! Purchased with the sole intent of expanding my knowledge base of regional Italian whites. Paired with Italian seafood appetizers & cheeses, served chilled. On the nose, I was caught off guard by how powerful it was! Powerful fruit - primarily stone and citrus, peaches and limes, with a hint of apple. I’ve never felt the fruit this intense in a white. At the rim, …

Very complex stuff compared to other cheap Arneis. Perfumed, juicy acidity, peach with lemony twist. Slightly bitter on the end.

Really a rising star in our cellar as far as non-chardonnay European white wines go. An Arneis from the Piedmont's noted Giacosa winery it is really a value offering that is delicate on the palate and extremely food friendly with a wide appeal amongst white wine drinkers.

At our wine group dinner at Two Chefs tonight, I made a last-minute change on my white-wine assignment for the first of four courses after I called Chef Jose aound mid-afternoon and found out it would be asparagus and shrimp. I had planned to bring an old ZH grand cru gewurztraminer, but that didn't seem like the best choice with asparagus. After some quick research on a few wine-food pairing sites, I decided on Bruno Giacosa's 2023 Roero Arneis from …

Really liked this wine and drank it outside in the summer heat so took a bit more work to get a gauge on. Picked up some honeysuckle and a very very slight touch of sweetness on. Not terribly complex but did enjoy and would buy again.

Like others mention this requires airing out and I'll add that, for me, it is much better super chilled. Nose is constricted after pour. Opens up but doesn't get complex. Sweet honey nose leads to grapefruit. Body is a bit creamy, almost effervescent. Bitter finish (mineral, herb, or green almond as it should be). My main issue is that it is too bitter and a bit off-balanced for me. Almost astringent. May work best as an aperitif. I totally get …

Quite thin and somewhat off balanced when first poured. And a very short finish. However given an hour or so to breathe it began to show some character. Yellow orchard fruit, green gummies, herbs and mineral finish. Develops quite good depth with some air.

Well made for sure and worked very well but still with the shortcomings of the grape. Lacks a bit of depth and complexity but it’s so well made that makes up for a lot. Medium, still firm with good mineral edge. Has that Italian nose of nothing at times. 89

Very good example of Arneis with a fresh bright acidity to balance the grape’s richer style. I have had too many Arneis that were too rich (not sure why - oak, late picking, whatever) but this is not one of those. Some nice pear and quince flavors with some hay. If you like Chenin Blanc you will like this. I had been hoping I had some chilled Chenin Blanc for my chicken braised in vinegar dinner recipe but I found …

I consider Giacosa Arneis the standard for Piemonte Arneis. Great aromas of citrus, wet stone, papaya and mango. Light medium mouthfeel with great acidity. A lot of citrus and tropical fruit flavors with a great balance of minerality. Medium finish. Goes great with pasta and clams in butter or white sauce.

Honeysuckle nose. Very fragrant bouquet but lighter on the palate. Stone fruit. Good acidity, sufficient to pare very nicely with spaghetti with sautéed shrimp, garlic, olive oil, red pepper and lemon zest. Smooth, vanillin texture. A viognier like quality to this wine in its 9th year which most reviews would have you believe is past its prime but in reality just means the wine’s characteristics have pleasantly mellowed.

Delicious. Continued improvement. Deep yellow in glass, nice weight on tongue, more body than before. Same flavor profile but richer, deeper and longer finish, hint of residual sugar akin to a chenin, that accentuates the fruit. Great acid/fruit balance, with clean finish. Lemon, herb, apricot, floral notes, bit of stone. Impressive in itself, and in development over last several years. Last bottle, but otherwise I'd be curious to try in a year to see how it evolves.

Served with grilled tuna, lemon/herb sauce, pasta, grilled red peppers. Yellow/gold in glass. Lovely nose of citrus, aged lemon, herbs, and bit of floral, mineral. Moderate weight on tongue and reasonably long finish, nicely balanced citrus, herbs, richness and acidity. Seems much better than a bottle I had about 1.5 years ago, as this is fuller and better balanced. The richness accented by the herbal notes really differentiates the wine.

Excellent. Great balance between rich stone fruits and brighter tropical flavors. The integration and balance of this wine are what stand out to me. Refreshing and pleasant fruits with backbone to provide interest, length and to stand up to a fairly challenging meal.

Beckett Tasting Group - Nov 2016 : Deep gold color. The nose has yeast with some floral aromas. However, the palate was very bitter peach pit, lemon rind, very little fruit flavors. The wine was overwhelmed by a very not pleasant bitterness. Not sure if this was premoxed or something else, but it was not good.

We had this in reserve at our tasting - it is a wine we have brought to the group on several occasions. But they wanted it anyway, to contrast with what we had drunk earlier. Clearly the star, as we expected. More complex and powerful than anything else on the table - wonderful minerality, good acidity, plenty of fruit - all working together. This wine sings.

This is our favorite white, and it lived up to our expectations. We brought it to a restaurant, and the only complaint was that it wasn't cold enough. After it spent a few minutes in the ice bucket, it had regained its verve. Love it.

Color light straw. Nose w saline clementine. Swishing shows the acid but as it warms also shows significant fruit density w tart finish. Sipping shows unexpected smoothness and fruit structure balance. Very nice and should be great w shellfish. Reminiscent of ripe dry Muscat.

My first bottle of this vintage. Very similar, and at least equal to the excellent Almondo Bricco delle Ciliege of the same year. Can't wait to try them together. Hmm, I see an elaborate baby squid dish shaping up for the near future. 91+? Opens with a blast of bottle-thrown gas, then mellows quickly, showing its minerality, intensely deep fruit core, and vibrant tension, ever broadening with air. Visiting brother became an instant fan and couldn't wait to find some.

Opened and poured, this bottle gave a similar showing to previous bottles. The wine continues to benefit from about 30 minutes of airing bringing out the mineral and stone notes on the bouquet and palate.
