Nose of tobacco, earth. Rich mouth. Fairly ripe fruit laden finish. Not my style for Cabernet Franc, but decent if you want a ripe expression of the varietal.

Last bottle and one of the best. This wine has been a great value. The bottle was opened for about one and a half hours.

Second good bottle in a row after one that was not very good. I have 2022 down as the back end of the drink window. I believe that is still the correct last year.

My last bottle of this one.....consumed several months ago.....was a disappointment in relation to prior bottles. This bottle was back to being in the range of my prior experience. Who knows why?

88, at best. Something is off the rails. This has been one of the best values in my inventory. A bottle consumed 2-3 months ago was terrific, like prior bottles. This one was way off from that experience. I do have 2022 down as the back end year for the drink window, but it is not likely that this wine could have gone south this quick. I have two or three bottles left. I hope this was a one off …

This has consistently been a very good wine......producing an experience well beyond its price point. It is drinking well right now, but I have 2022 down as the last year of my drink window. I think that timing is still correct.

I seem to be having a better experience with this wine than is the case with others. This was the best bottle yet. Last year I sensed it might be tiring. I still think that is the case. So, will drink up on this one. It started out as a good value.....but evolved into a great value.

Tasted with mr_mando: Nose with some fruit, not intensive, on palate nice tannins, acidity, some fruit. Price/benefit excellent, but far from 93 points by Parker.

Opens up quickly. Not a lot of depth but very pleasant. Easy to drink.

This one got lost in my Wine Room. Have not had a bottle in a good while. There is a previous tasting note that said it needed a big decant and tasted somewhat like a Petite Syrah, rather than a Cabernet Franc. Neither are the case now. It tastes like a Cabernet Franc now, but on the fruity side. Also, did not need a big decant like before. Also, believe it may be tiring.....I would drink up on this one.

This is so lid. Benefits from a decant. Blind probably would have missed this as cab franc. The only give away is the tobacco on the palate. Rich fruit was a great accompaniment to ribeye

PNP. Cork perfect. Color color dark garnet. Nose has plum tobacco leaf and cedar. Not getting the pepper. Swishing shows mild acids and soft but significant tannic structure. Sipping shows med weight soft fruit and a supple finish. Compared to previous bottles this is starting to show signs of maturity. Perfect tonight with braised short ribs.

Not entirely complex. But a nice smooth wine with deep fruit/prune notes. Deeper color and flavor than I expected. It improved substantially over the course of several hours. Good QPR at 18

This wine was far better starting on the second day opened. The color is an attractive dark purple with no brick edge. The tannins in this wine kept it dry throughout tasting it, without being harsh or abrasive, but keeping the texture from being velvety. The initial mouth entry was distinctly fruity, with both black plum and pomegranate, as well as very earthy, with a floral violet. Cabernet Franc is often planted in the northern edge of its range, where …

First taste unimpressive. Improves with air but also improves as you drink it. Takes the palate a few sips to adjust and appreciate it. Overall, a balanced, nice wine. Don't see this needing any age but certainly doesn't taste like it's past its window. Overall, well balanced, but wasn't particularly complex.

PNP. Cork perfect. Color nearly opaque garnet. Nose shows dark plum and green tobacco with a hint of over ripeness. Swishing shows raisiny med weight palate with low acid and sweet tannins. Sipping allows even more intensity to show. Big thick cab franc that is not typical I think of the varietal.

PNP. Cork perfect. Color dark garnet. Nose tight and I agree w others that this does not jump out as cab franc but is more savory and meaty. Swishing shows dense structure with both acid and tannin, but the tannin is well integrated and fine. Sipping allows the fruit to come forward and it tastes like cab franc, but a ripe version. It is a muscular wine but well balanced. Dunno about aging but at 8 yrs going strong.

I believe I have figured out the reason for the varied comments in previous TNs. I had a disrupted evening because of phone calls and other events. Hence, drank half the bottle over roughly 3 hours after the bottle had been open for about a half hour and then decanted. The difference in the wine from, say one hour into the decant until roughly 3 hours was unbelievable. My 91 rating reflects the 3+ hour time frame.....and my rating might …

Does not taste like Cab Franc. Is not varietally correct and boring. Leave this one on the shelf..
