Medium deep straw. Heavy and slightly musty nose with poached apple. Some candy. Palate is fresh but has an underlying green and musty edge. Moderate weight and length with a phenolic finish. Aging well although there are a few rough edges.

This is Cilento Fiano (though IGT Paestum) rather than Avellino Fiano. Crisp granny smith apple and lemon dominate the palate—this is bone dry and very acidic—and there are undertones of almond and an attractive dose of seaside minerals on the finish. I liked this better with an hour of air and at a warmer temperature, but it was difficult for this to really shine when paired alongside a more expensive DuMol Clare Chardonnay and with Bacon Wrapped Scallops, which seemed …

Strong yellow color. Slight acidic fizz. With minerality and citrus freshness but slight sweet and floral. Tried this one as part of NYT (Eric Asimov) Wine School on three Fianos. Much preferred the Ciro Picariello Fiano di Avellino. Have a Cantina Giardino Fiano Irpinia Gaia left to try.

Deep straw/pale gold. Hard to get a read on the nose. Hints of the typical fiano lemon and minerality but then hints of riesling like petroleum creeped in. A little fleshiness with crisp acidity and a fizzy finish. Overall, I'd say a lighter style of fiano. Worked great with chicken liver pate.

Au restaurant. Première expérience. Bien minéral mais avec un joli fruit. A besoin d'une demi-heure dans le verre pour bien se livrer.

Crisp and precise, steely minerality with a spicy undercurrent running through. Apple/pear fruit, prefectly balanced acidity. Elegant and delicious.
