The 1964 Magdelaine evolves quickly once it lands in the decanter, showing red fruit and milk chocolate before evolving into a darker profile - red fruit transitions to plum and milk chocolate to ganache as subtle 5-spice and foie gras notes very subtly wafting from the glass. Autumnal notes are starting to creep in, so if this bottle is representative (healthy color and a very top shoulder fill), it's time to drink these.

Nose: Shifts quickly from dark berry, damson, cedar and tobacco to the ripe cherry, dark chocolate, five spice and rich game notes. Palate: Fully resolved silky and now blending g dark fruit, spices, chocolate and charcuterie notes. Elegant and shifting in the glass this has emense character. A real treat. Same bottle as EC below. Agree that this is in its window to drink now to get the best of it.

Premier nez affreux sur la vieille cave. La bouteille est simplement laiss� ouverte et rego�ter 3h apr�s. Tout de suite c'est une autre histoire m�me en ne reniflant que le goulot!
