Impressive again. Big but balanced. Still plenty of primary fruit. Better after having been opened for a few hours.

Really enjoyable Blend, excellent balance, quite elegant for a Paso wine. Enjoyable now but likely to hold for a couple of years.

Delivers on expectations as a hearty big boy. Not a ton of complexity coming through all the fruit but still enjoyable.

Still full of dark fruits with some earthy tertiary notes. Well integrated tannins. Still needed an hour decanting time to show full potential range. Quality: Outstanding. Could have easily gone another 5 years, but no reason to wait, drink now.

I'm surprised I held off for 3 1/2 years between tastings. decanted for 3 hours......nose is still quite full, rich oaky flavor, dark fruits, Paso granite, well blended.

I was a tad worried this might have aged out when I opened it. Boy was I wrong I’m positive it has several more good years ahead but alas I’ll never know as this was my last 2009. Fabulous nose. Full of fruit still along with tertiary aromas. Blackberry, dark plum, raisins, leather, earthy, Forrest floor. Very smooth tannins, crisp acid. Long enjoyable finish with a blackberry compote flavor lingering.

I used to have a good amount of Justin but stopped as I found it had gotten too ripe / hot for my tastes. This bottle was a gift and I must admit was a lot better than expected. Yes ripe but also long finish and not over the top. Very enjoyable.

Very deep opaque ruby. I don't have enough experience with these wines even with moderate amounts of age to draw any conclusions, but this shows... well, somewhat awkwardly. On the nose it offers muddled and not particularly distinct aromas of ripe blackberry, crme de cerise, purple roses, vanilla and burnt wood. On the palate it is full bodied with medium+ acidity, loads of sweet, liqueurish fruit and a bit of astringency that comes more from alcohol than from the soft …

Tasted from Magnum. Isosceles vertical tasting 2010 - 2016, inclusive, non-blind. A: ripe dark fruit. P: Plum, ripe blackberries, black cherries, still a hint of brightness, by no means overly mature. Still complex, medium length finish. It was the star of the night. Everyone revisited toward the end, after we tasted through to the 2016, it was still rated above the other vintages.

Drank next to the 2016 Mondavi To-Kalon Reserve. Decanted for 1 hour. This wine has much more up front fruit and a "bigger" initial feel to it, but was much less complex and nuanced than the Mondavi. Had a medium finish and wasn't nearly as integrated. Compared to the Mondavi, this wine really punches you up front with dark and blue fruit flavor and then fades, as opposed to a slow build of the Mondavi.

a heavier Bordeaux blend from California, leans towards the new style in Calif which is fruit forward. Loads of blue and black fruits on the nose and palate with a touch of spice & herbs (not too much) and a pleasant, long finish. A very enjoyable wine with grilled or roasted protein. We had it with NY Strips that were pan seared in a cast iron skillet and then set on the Traeger for 40m at low heat (perfect medium …

Enjoyable, but far more unidimensional, less complex and not as interesting as the other past vintages of this wine we have appreciated. For the money, we will look elsewhere, as this particular, albeit well made wine, is made in the style approaching the character of a Caymus Cabernet Sauvignon (those of you who are in accord will understand), and is not displaying the true representation of the any of the various vinified California identities that reveal the depth of the …

My boss opened this wonderful bottle for our Christmas party. Nice dark color with beautifully integrated tannins. I got notes of plum, vanilla, cassis, and some great fruit on the palate. This was a terrific wine and such great QPR for its time. Unfortunately, costs continue to increase on these so haven’t been buying for a bit.

Writing a week later. Looked really pretty with a very bright rim and wouldn’t have guessed it was unfiltered. Almost no sediment and what was there stuck to the bottle. The fruit was plush and red with a good structure. The half bottle I saved for night two was just as good.

Good things come to those...yeah, it's a cliche, but spot-on in this case. Isosceles is always a showboat in its youth, but with even a LITTLE age, it becomes a confident -- and consummate -- performer. Paired with chateaubriand. Also -- we left a little bit in the bottle, lightly corked, out in the dining room for five days. And it remained stellar.

Totally opaque black cherry skin color, with an immediate nose of intense blue and black fruit, a whiff of chocolate dust, and cherry flavored ribbon candy, or as my wife interprets, black cherry compote. Not one to decant wines of this particular persona, we prefer to let the wine slip through its inherent transformational presentations in our glass. The unctuous, supple and viscous mouthfeel clings to the oral cavity, in perfect balance of acidity and still present bracing tannin structure, …
