Tasted blind. We were guessing SauvBlanc at the table but debated the place where it was from due to the unique bottle shape. This was a very good, classic SauvBlanc with grassy notes leading, light palte, good acidity. Very well balanced.

Retail $45. Under cork. 100% Sauvignon Blanc. There are not many Sauvignon Blancs that one would want to hold for over a decade, but this is one of them. I picked up two bottles of this wine over a decade ago on a drive from Paris down to the South of France. We passed the tasting room and I did an immediate u-turn once I realized. Glad I did. The first cork we popped over three years ago and it …

Very light straw yellow; unripe pear, grassy notes; concentrated, straw, grass, light acidity, light “creamy”-like ending; nice, but also a bit ordinary

I bought a couple of bottles of this wine as I was passing through the town and we had stopped at the roadside tasting room. I was enamored with this wine way back in 2012 when we bought a couple of bottles. This was our first foray. Whoa. Just slightly golden in the glass with lemon, white peach, guava (maybe), and a tab of butter. The palate is just short of magical with incredible balance, subtle fruit, weight, and a …

Winebar [1 Rosé, 3 Whts, & 8 Reds] from 5/4/2018 (Vintage Wines Ltd., San Diego, CA) : [From a 375 ml] From clay and limestone (Kimmeridgian marnes on fossilized limestone) soils; "No wood is used in the vinification process..." N: Intense, certainly grass, rest tough to parse P: MF body; VERY RNDISH entry with NICE frt met by tangy, ALMOST puckerish acidity which transitions into the LONG (but very, VERY slightly faint?) tangy/swt finish, ult with grapefrty flavors? For now …

Sensaciones ahumadas, lima, hierba fresca recién cortada y todo ello sobre un fondo mineral. En boca la entrada es intensa, cítrico, con buenos amargos, bien de acidez, largo y bien definido.

Trinity Wine Fair : The nose stands a bit lower in intensity compared to the palate where the wine is really powerful, high acidity, green notes, rich, mineral, high acidity, this one needs food, long finish. Outstanding and very young.

Another dinner @ Christiansholm (Klampenborg) : Nothing to add here; a extremely well made, commercial example, no faults to pick on, yet, nothing to really exctite. Might rise to the occassion with a few years of cellaring, but I doubt it. #Schur

Monthly Tasting Group EEE #050; Loire white (@ MG) : In the bouquet citrus, green herbs, grasses, hay, minerals and some smoke. On the palate green apples, gooseberry and grapefruit. Firm acidity and some bitterness. Focused. Might improve a bit with a little more ageing. 87 – 88

Drank at Aruba restaurant (Screaming Eagle). Nose of green apples and citrus. Medium bodied, pleasant, but not overbearing acidity level. Copious amounts of apples, tangerines & citrusy elements, smooth mouthfeel. Overall a bigger than the norm, but very enjoyable Loire wine that went very well with our fish.

This light yellow/gold wine is impressively layered and complex. Aromas and flavors of rose petals, citrus peel, wet stones and melon are framed with crisp acidity and seamless alcohol (listed as 12.5%). The flavors build in the middle and the finish shows impressive length. Although certainly not the case for most versions of Sauvignon Blanc, de Ladoucette has yet again produced one which has benefited from time in the bottle. Drink now-2016.

Good color, a bit advanced. The nose shows sour citrus, with hints of mineral and honey. This is light bodied on the palate, with very good concentration and good finesse. However, this feels decidedly tired. The short finish features a bit of unbalanced acidity.

Beautiful, bright, balanced and structured. Notes of grapefruit, gooseberry, acacia flowers, lemon-lime, honeydew and a mineral driven frame of chalk, slate and flint on both the palate and nose. The high acidity is focused and precise driving through the long finish citrus and mineral driven.

A very complete and honest wine with depth in spades. Going back for more. Love the nose too! Paid $23 and easliy drinks more like $35 plus. I think the added ripeness of the vintage is a plus here while the structure keeps this vibrant and tasting like it was just picked.

Very elegant Pouilly, no wonder it is served in many fine restaurants around here in Paris.Needs to be opened 15-30 min prior to consumption. At the time of drinking this bottle (oct 2013), it is probably at its best

The wine is clear and bright with a pale lemon colour and presence of legs. The nose is clean and developing, showing medium intensity aromas of lemon peel, ripe apricots, fresh grass, white flowers, asparagus, honey and hints of smokey notes. It's dry in the mouth with a medium+ refreshing acidity, medium well integrated alcohol, medium body and medium+ intensity flavours of lemon peel, ripe apricots, white flowers, smoke and hints of honey. Medium finish. It's a very good quality …

A rich fruit character of candied lemon, touch of honey, menthol; clearly from a very ripe year, good depth, recognisable as Sauvignon Blanc but the vintage dominates the varietal; good weight, very attractive, drinking very well. Drink young, nothing to gain from ageing this.

Ripe lemon and floral notes on the nose. Nothing shouting out SB. Dry and quite full palate with ripe almost tropical fruit, profound chalk and flint character. Long finish. Very good, but riper than ideal and obviously too young.

Pale yellow color with faint green highlights. Somewhat green nose, but leaning on the ripe side and yet rather restrained, even closed. Light aromas of currant leaf, cut grass, some asparagus, a hint of ripe yellow fruit and a touch of dry wood. The palate is definitely a lot more rich than the nose with more pronounced depth and richness. Somewhat green flavors of blackcurrant, cut herbs, some gooseberry and a little lemon-driven citrus fruits. Pronounced acidity, yet the wine …
