I rated "i don't like it" because it just isn't the profile that excites me. However it does have some qualities that deserve the 87 point score. This wine is brawny, rustic, and huge. The acid is a bit too forward and makes this drinker tired. The alcohol is also very present, making this a difficult match with food. very hard, showing abrasive and hot. maybe needs some more time, or a bad bottle. Also popped and poured, should have tried decanting.

As it warmed up from cellar temp the nose slowly picked up. A hint of white pepper or bramble, followed by soft what I'd say was boysenberry. On the palette the fruit was lush, supported by a strong tannin backbone. I hope as it fully warms up this doesn't become overpowering. Nice soft wine, very easy to drink. Stood alone very well after dinner with some friends. Great summer red.

Really, really good. Significantly more accessible and pleasurable than the 05 Tempier at this point. (And cheaper!) Wish I had bought more.
