Slate aromas and flavors, medium-light, enough r.s. to give some roundness, but ultimately simple. A good quaffing wine for a sunny afternoon. 12.0% stated alcohol. APN 10 13. Cellared since original release.

Chatham. Drinks more like feinherb. Classy wine. At this point, not for the petrol averse.

Color: medium light straw Nose: red apple, apricot, slate Flavor: tons of minerality, green apple, surprising pineapple finish Mouthfeel: dry, tart, medium weight finish This was an excellent pairing with homemade Tikka Masala. Will definitely drink this again.

Tasting at Maximin Grünhauser (Maximin Grünhauser Estate) : The nose is pretty light on this wine, showing intriguing scents of flowers over stony minerality. When tasted, barely ripe peaches mingle with limes. Delicate acidity goes deep, keeping things taut without getting too heavy. It maintains a satisfying sense of purity.

Light airy nose with a touch of unripe stone fruits. Different to a lot of the other dry 2012's with a slightly savoury note to the fruit. Gains sweetness and ripeness of fruit through the palate.

Howard Ripley 2012 German Tasting (London) : Pre-release sample. A little marine salinity on the nose. Then a taut, steely palate that's equal parts citrus and limestone. Borderline austere. 16/20.
