Villa Cerna Chianti Classico Riserva

Maybe a bit past peak - better on the palate, with decent acidity for lift, albeit a bit short on the finish. The nose has a slightly raisined edge to it. But I don't want to come off too harsh here - this is still drinking pretty well for a 20+ year old wine from a so-so vintage.

Happy to stay at 93 - this is a great wine - that is drinking well - I would say this time only medium acidity and tannins - the fruit is cherries, strawberries and blackberries. Great balance - You are clearly getting a nice complex wine - that is still developing.

I am increasing again - this wine is really doing well - the nose is wet forrest you sense the age - the palette is medium plus acidity and tannins but well integrated. This wine is really coming out - a lot has happened since I had the first bottle - everything is just more developed - the fruit is there both on the nose and the palette - it is cherries and black currant and some plums. Perfect integrated medium acidity and tannins and really a great balance. The wine is drinking very well.

Uncorked about 5 hours ago; color is a quite dark translucent ruby, lightening towards the rim. Nose is "heady" & ripe, like macerated red & black fruits. Sweet/ripe fruit on the palate, leaning more to blackberry than cherry. Medium-bodied, but really coats the palate - impressive. The acidity is starting to become more pronounced as the wine takes on air, which only serves to make the wine more balanced. This has aged well.

the age is visible - but the wine is also very drinkable - tannins and acidity - both medium - very well integrated - red cherries, plums, and some black currant - good long aftertaste - all i all a very nice glass of wine -
