Extraordinary! Nose somewhat muted and shows some age but not 17 yrs. Brick highlights to clear and bright color. Medium viscosity lends to a satisfying texture and lingering finish. As it opens up, flavors upon flavors present themselves with more secondary than primary flavors, but still fresh which is where the fun begins. Remarkably almost no sediment indicates more runway. Bravo!!

We drank our last two 07’s in the last two weeks, both with similar notes. Corks were intact thanks to proper cellaring but the labels were peeling off. The wine is aging. Legs are apparent with slight browning in the meniscus in the glass. Aromas of tobacco, waning red fruit and earth. Mild tannins are evident. The tobacco nose and flavors are ever present. This is holding up much better than I previously experienced. Very mature with well aged tannins and light cherry fruit. Some secondary flavors. Medium long finish. This could continue to age for another 5 years but I think it will be best enjoyed by 2025.

pristine bottle. on pop n pour - color is translucent red - prominent bricking at edges. Nose is of minerality, some earth, and barnyard - but not dirty. medium body but with good concentration and impeccable balance. Fruit (cranberry, strawberry rhubarb) is integrated and plays a very minor background role to the spicy tertiary flavors. Very elegant and very much in tact.

Elegant, soft and very refined. Much farther in maturity since I last tasted 4 years ago. This is slightly beyond the peak of the drinking window. Drink by 2022.

DM Tuesday Night Zoom Tasting (Vancouver, BC) : Drank blind next to the 2007 Domaine de Montille Aux Malconsorts. Definitely Pinot on the nose but showing more ripe with darker fruit, along with a hint of green. After it sat in the glass vanilla and oak started to peek through especially on the palate. Finishes with some sweetness that's for sure new world, however this was a nice effort.

A nice effort here. From magnum. As a Burg drinker was interested to try this. Good nuance and complexity. Definitely a step bigger than most old world Pinot but its in balance and retains good structure. Darker fruits and some noticeable wood still framing the wine but not overt. A real richness to the palate but again retaining balance. Overall felt this was a really solid effort.

I’ve been observing (tasting) this one since 2011. Tonight was just delightful. Everything seems finally to have resolved together to form a lovely Burgundian Pinot, but with dark cherry fruit still leading the savory palate, the Oregon touch. Good on its own, and good with Humboldt Fog and salami.

Lovely, burg like pinot. Fresh pinot nose of red cherry and berry fruit. Well balanced palate both in terms of not being excessively sweet or extracted and having good balancing acidity. Good 1er cru level. Still young.

At the post Barrell Auction Party...big fan of Drouhin Laurene...have not had this vintage previously. From a magnum Color still good, some bricking. Nose was delicate, light red fruits, herbs, floral notes. Medium mouthfeel and medium finish... Old world style, fruit has faded. Nice but not much in secondary characteristics or nuance.

The consensus here is that this should have been gone in 2010 but I don't feel bad at all about waiting. Just another too short drink by year on CT. This was delightful and delicate, extremely well integrated pretty much right out of the bottle. Wonderful old world earthy style, probably the fruit has settled down quite a bit from the youth of this wine, but as far as I'm concerned that's just fine. Only have the one bottle, sadly.

A lovely showing for this Oregon pinot, with tell-tale pinot noir aromatics. Bright and elegant and very clean, there's still a good core of stemmy, cinnamon pinot fruit. Really lovely, but lacks complexity. Drink soon. 90-91 pts.

Unfortunately this had some very slight notes of TCA but the fruit aromatics and richness did manage to come through. I waited gave this a little time to see if i was correct as others did not seem to agree and the musty aromatic hints of wet cardboard were definitely there. Smelled like beets, leather, tobacco, and some red fruits, but this was clearly veering towards "mature burgundy" notes on the nose. Definitely showing it's age, although still very fresh. As if more evidence were needed to confirm the effects of proper storage... this wine, purchased at the winery, was held under ideal cellar conditions since it was bottled. Wonderful wine but still only second among the wines drunk with dinner tonight. A lighter, prettier style of pinot noir, which I generally prefer. Wend exceedingly well with our fresh caught coho/silver salmon. Red fruits, everything incredibly well balanced. Had to share it with 5 other people - I loved sharing it and hated having to share it! It was that good. i wish I had more.
