Needs many more years…..

Same note as last time; this was a fun drinker but won't knock anyone's socks off.

Strawberries, sour cherry, medium body, very feminine. Light on its feet and elegant, but at the same time not knocking anybody off their feet. At this price point, it's hard to complain about this, but it was a little one note compared to the 2007 Le Poste drank next to it.

For a low cost Gevrey, this one is actually really enjoyable. But, perhaps a touch out of balance and you wonder if it's just because it needs a couple more years. Hindsight, I probably would have left this bottle alone for about three years. The nose has a little bit of nitrogen, but mostly black tea, sweet tobacco, brambly raspberry. the entry is very sweet, and a little more acidic than I thought it would be. Sunday dinner wine. Sexy red fruits, super smooth and married well with both the lobster starter and the grain fed rib-eye main! Just plain delicious...
