Peaking now with all structural elements fully integrated. Notes otherwise unchanged from my 2015 bottle.

From magnum. This one is darker than the 2013 I had the other evening. Pretty nose of pure blackberries and blackberries. I get some cardamom too. Palate shows a wonderfully fleshed out wine with tremendous mouth-feel and structure. I get notes of tea leaf, soy and maybe cola. With some swirling I can find some violets and I do love me some violets. Certainly Spring flowers and a day from Spring, they are most welcomed. Tannins seem pretty well resolved …

Big pinot. Fresh black cherry, raspberry and blackberry notes. A bit of cola and spice. Pleasant but I would like to see more earthy notes. Light tannins/acid. Drinking well now, should last another 3-4 years.

Ruby color with lighter rim. Nose: black cherry, pomegranate, boysenberry, and blueberry with accents of violets, cola, cardamon, black tea, bacon, Sichuan peppercorn, and black olive. Medium body on the palate: black cherry, pomegranate, blood orange, and black plum framed by cardamon, cola, black tea, pink peppercorn, dates, and iron minerality. Medium+ acidity. Lighter tannins. Lingering plum skin, black tea, spice, and iron minerality on the long finish. Juicy, plush fruit with exotic spice and a superb core of minerality. …

142 cs. made of this bottling. At first PnP & drank over 1 hour during dinner, then slow-ox'd rest for 4.5 hours before we finished bottle off. This is still young & in need of more time to age. Notable bright/sweet red berry fruit, rhubarb, cola, carob, spice, & forest floor/stemmy notes. Abundant acid, sharp fine tannins, tautness in palate and a moderate lasting finish.

Really good. I was surprised at how nice this wine was. On the nose it's all black fruit, balsamic, baking spice, oak, and a touch of forest floor. On the palate, there's all of those elements so the complexity is quite good, but also plenty of acidity. I think the acid is critical here as it provides a great foil to the ripeness. We couldn't detect the 14.6 abv at all. Good finish, nice length and spiciness. I suspect this …

Just all around lovely, nice fruit, plenty of acid for the dinner table. Went great with vegetable enchiladas. I wish I had more bottles.

This still needs time to integrate & drank better on day 2. The nose is full of red fruits- red cherry, red raspberry, cranberry along with a notable oak influence. The palate also has tons of red fruit & noticeable oak, but balanced by medium tannins/acid; a somewhat short finish. Overall not bad, but I would like it much better if it had some earth notes & less oak. That said this is quite young & I look forward to …

Pop and pour. I could not drink this because it was corked but continued revisiting to try and get some sense of the wine. There is a lovely floral element hidden behind the corked flavors. Sad.

Popped 2 hours before first pour, consumed over 3 hours. Nose: Medium plus expressiveness, black cherry, black tea and earth. Palate: Medium to full bodied, nice mouth-feel, shows black tea flavors up front with sweet dark red fruit showing up through the mid-palate where it's joined by a little Asian spice kick. The finish is long and quite pleasant. Overall this isn't a complex wine, but everything it does show is positive.

Opened bottle and there were big grape jam favors immediately, but in a great way. Decanted three hours and wine was good, but something missing. Currant and vine on the nose with a rich floral palate, but felt like there was another flavor developing, will check back in on day two. Solid tasting wine but still has a high alcohol heat, I think this is a well done wine that's worth drinking now, may move to something better, but for …
