#05-77. Corked. But the weight and power of the vintage is on display here, with a peachy, rounded quality. I've no doubt the quality of this wine.

1976 vintage

Med. gold in glass. Mix of apple, apricot and quince on palate. Sweetness well-integrated and appropriate for the level. Acid med., could be a touch more, but quite good.

Superb, even better than my excellent first bottle. A wonderful honey note adds further complexity. Very glad I have three bottles left, 95+.

Same notes as before. My group mentioned that the drinking window wil close soon, but I would give it time until 2030. It's Riesling you know? ;) We'll see. Currently my favourite Mosel - Spätlese - Riesling.

2nd of 3. Fresh, a touch oxidized. Cooked apples, honey, nice energy. Lovely. Consistent with prior score.

2014 vintage

Pnp. Under natural cork. Pours golden yellow with a bit of natural spritz. Prickly nose with lanolin, light rancio, hayloft and a bit of yellow plum. Medium bodied, round and smooth, sweet and a bit of supporting acidity. Lots of lanolin, yellow plum, a bit of gooseberry and dried honey on the palate. Lovely balance! Finishes ling, sweetly fruited and with enough acidity to leave a clean finish.

2014 vintage

Honeyed and plush. Very pretty apricot fruit, a bit darker. Nice acidity here that keeps it all in balance. In fact, I LOVE the energy here; tug-of-war between the ripping, saliva-inducing acid and the rich, slightly unctuous body. Bottle kept for 4 days half-full - just as good. Drinking very well now, still has all of its fruit and zero tertiary notes yet a well-integrated body.

Had it for Christmas Eve Dinner (well, had it after Christmas Eve dinner). Same notes as before, I just love this wine! If its too sweet, you can cool it down and let it warm up in the glass. I am lucky to get this locally in perfect condition for 25€.

Superb Riesling Spätlese. From a warm year, which is shown by very exotic notes (kiwi, pineapplle, mango). Nevertheless, perfectly balanced by a rather high acidity. Steadily improved over three days, 93+. P.S.: Forgot the last part of the bottle in the frische. After 8 days a tad power acidity, but even more complexity, a caleidoscope of fruit. Really impressive, 94.

Dinner with Frank. Notes as before. We took the opportunity and made a glass comparison: Zalto Universal vs. Zwiesel Duo Allround. The Zwiesel won by far. However, drinking a fruity Riesling (Ebersbach Charta), the Zwiesel Duo Allround lost against a Zwiesel Sensa fruity. Once again I believe there is the perfect glass for every wine. But maybe I am just a glass maniac.

Magnum. I absolutely agree to FC1910‘s note. Riesling cannot get much better…. Still lots of live ahead. Wow! Enjoyed it at the Feinkost Schneiderei in Moers. Live can be good.

Under cork. Pure, late afternoon, summer sun yellow. Coats the glass with a uniform layer of robing. Fleshy yellow plums, crystallized honey and light petrol on the nose. Dinner at Ecco , St Moritz (Ecco , St Moritz) : Ever so bright and playful and just a lovely way to finish our fpdinner at the beautiful Ecco at St Moritz. Soft petrolly, light caramel on the nose, bright and full of charm on the nose in a way that only Mosel rieslings deliver. Elegant and just delicious and at this age worked so well. 91-92 and a good call from the Sommelier.

Mosel Producer Visits-Mostly 2022 Riesling; 9/6/2023-9/7/2023 : Apple and peach with herb and ash in the background. Medium to light with creamy attack but drier finish. Surprisingly modest perception of sugar despite it having 65 grams. Lovely mineral finish. Very good and I preferred this to the Herrenberg. Ready in 3+ years.

Glass: Zalto Universal Popped and poured, drunk over three days. CLear, medium golden color. Clean, medium intense, youthful nose, not yet fully unfolded. Swet fruit, zests, crushed stones, no signs of classic Grünhaus/Ruwer notes yet. On the palate warm, sweet fruit, medium + acidity, only 8% abv. I like the brightness of the acids that lift without being harsh, but I am less of a fan of the botrytis influence, which lends a distinct honeyed note to the wine. I really like this wine. Cool it and then drink sip by sip on a warm summer night. A beautiful Riesling with the classic German apricot notes, somewhat sweet but not overly so, elegant, no rough edges. Great to drink now, though it probably will last for many more years. We have one more: it may not last long.

im Glas blassgelb, subtiles Bukett nach gelben Früchten, Birnenkompott, am Gaumen stoffig, wieder gelbfruchtig, Birne, milde Säure, gutes Gerüst, zu leichten Speisen. Nach einem Tag in der geöffneten Flasche gewinnt der Wein an Cremigkeit.

DVI at Forslundska Despite the vintage, this behaves really like I want my riesling. Boat diesel and gooseberries, well balanced and quite long. Some apples and the slightest of vanilla. Perhaps Rower fared better than Mosel this vintage. Nice!

Decided to do a check in on this bottling, largely because 2014 isn’t my favorite German Riesling vintage, and I wanted to be sure things were still going on OK. No rush here. This is still firmly in the baby fat stage, and while enjoyable in its current state of richness, some more cellar time will expose a bit of the structure. Good now as the foil for spicy Thai curry, but better things ahead. Hold!

Sometimes, you have to forgot your own promise to wait before opening a wine. Yes, I had told myself, give it until 2024... So much for promises. Great excuse: I have a few. Beautiful nose of herbs, peaches and lemon. It's really juicy and mineral, with a long finish. This wine is all about balance and purity, even in its infancy. Pure delight. Why wait?

Crystal clear silvery ginger colour with a light spritz. The nose is prickly, light petrol, yellow plum, unripe pear and crushed oyster shells. Crunchy and fresh and bright smelling. AP 14 03. Pale to mid straw. Fresh and fruity in the nose with evolving shafts if kerosine. Still mid sweetness, evident on the attack and mid palate, with pithy citrus, mineral and faintly herby notes to the decently long finish. The apperience was of medium intensity with a lemon coloration. On the nose it was clean, with a light intensity. Primary aromas of Honey, Muscat, ripe Lemon, ripe Apricot and Raisins where found. In addition tertiary aromas of dried Apricot, dried Peach and Almonds where found. The development of the wine was developing. 倒出后杯醒加回温一小时左右，具有比较成熟的桃杏、熟苹果、果脯、柑橘以及清亮的蜂蜜气息，比较新鲜和简单。入口亦然，整体来说果味比较成熟，杏子，熟黄桃，杏脯，柑橘，还有点荔枝，酸甜匹配，稍有粘稠，还算和谐。但是果味感觉简单和平面，不集中。后段的些许虚线般的矿物感和金属感带来了一点结构，结尾带有一点草本、冰冻青瓜汁和小白花（兰花调？）的清新。第三天，闻着还是比较清澈平稳的果味，带蜜糖水的清亮，些许火药烟雾，细尘感，微矿。入口整体结构在拔高的酸度的作用下，变得比较收缩，酸甜有点分离……果味依然比较简单，带点柚子和果脯味，白花的香气好些。轻微金属、贝壳和矿，如同虚线一般。后段略带辛辣，结尾有葡萄干、青瓜和一点蜜糖。 88/100
