Past its prime but still drinkable. Plummy with a little black pepper and velvety, enveloping tannins. Bottle may have been slightly corked as there was the faint hint of wet cardboard on both the nose and palate.

Nice bottle, a good alternative for when you don't want a cab sav. My last bottle and thankfully it was better than the one before it. Great value for the woot price.

Dark fruits on the nose and palate. Ripe plum, black cherry, blueberry, blackberry. Allspice, black pepper and cinnamon on the mid-palate segway into some heat, moderate oak and medium tannins on the spicy finish. Drank over 3 days (Vacu-vin'd between servings) and it held up nicely. Not in a hurry to finish my other 3 bottles but don't think it's getting any better, either. Starting to throw some sediment so decanting or filtering is recommended.

Nice easy drinker, not as bold as others have noted. Perhaps it is fading as another reviewer mentioned. The palate had dark fruit, perhaps cherry and fig, some chocolate and spices, and finished smoothly without any overbearing heat or tartness. Rather enjoyable wine.

Just as solid as the last bottle I tried. I think I prefer this wine the first night, as it is a little more fruit forward. The second day it opens more into the peppery spectrum, which probably plays better with food then just sipping. Still great on both days, especially for the price.

Surprised how fruity this was, but, for one not fond of highly extracted wines, in an acceptable and enjoyable way. Not a complex wine, could use a bit more TA and tannins. Drinking much better than the first opened 2011.11.27.

Ok, I've had quite a few of these over the past couple of years, but this bottle was probably the best one. I've found that you need to let this breathe for at least a few hours for it to settle down and show the full bodied dark cherry and peppery goodness it holds. Delicious on second day.

PnP I really enjoyed this wine. I don't get any heat that others noted, though there is a little bit of a spice/smokey note, but it is far from overpowering. I don't get much, green pepper, which people usually associate with cab franc. I am not a green pepper fan, so that was biggest fear before trying this wine. This has some nice bold, bright fruit, which shows through the spice and smoke. A nice silky, lush mouthfeel followed but …

I don't know if its a mindset or its fact, but these wineries that produce a gazillon cases don't usually excite me, but whatever it is, Hahn seems to know my tastes. This Cab Franc is a big wine that's not for the meek. Spicy, tannins that are smooth and rough at the same time (I know, right?). Chocolate and dark berry compote on the finish. Oh yeah!

Gave this a couple of hours of air time and the heat subsides and you get a fruit forward, dark berry, earthy and smoky cab franc that is a great everyday wine and a sure crowd pleaser.

Decent cab franc. Fruity nose and entry. Soft tannins, with a nice finish. Decanted. After a couple of hours, the fruit ha mellowed and it was more earthy. A bit of the oak started to show at the end, but not over powering.
