Gorgeous white from South Africa, 52% S.B. 48% Semillon. Sauvignon Blanc for me can get boring fast. But the addition of the Oaked Semillon does wonders. Separated into thirds and aged in 1st, 2nd and 3rd use barrels for 9 months. A delicate and soft wine, you still notice the bright and fresh Sauvignon Blanc notes but the Semillon adds incredible weight and depth. Great little wine here that has neat little package and seems to have providence. I don't have a lot of experience with SA wines, so was interested in this one. Pricey, but worth it in CAN. Nose is light with tropical fruit qualities. Palate is med+ bodied and balanced with rich fruit and acid. Some white tropical fruit, minerality, finishing with some very light grassy undernotes.
