Amazing how much youthful fruit still remains after 18 years.

Light ruby color; restrained nose with some decent notes of red fruit. Medium bodied wine, short finish. Probably 2-3 more years ahead. Does not reach the level of Mondavi‘s Cabernet.

The color is still quite nice for a 17 year old Merlot. The nose lacks a little in both intensity and diversity. Soft texture, the alcohol a little too present and perhaps lacking a little in acidity. Has lost some of its freshness

This is a serious wine. Fresh, youthful, and structured, it's layered with cherries, red plums, fruit punch, and hibiscus. It's beautifully made but it needs at least 2+ hours of air to coax it out of its tightly-wound shell. I'd give it another year, at least.

Purplish ruby in color. Aromas of blue, black, and dark red fruits, licorice, walnut, chocolate, cedar, and orange peel. Medium body, acid, and finish, with flavors of dark and dark red fruits, mineral, and spice. Some drying tannins at play, but drinking fine w/ food. This was a leftover from a family gathering and I don't have any others, but if I did, I might sit on them for a year or two, based on this bottle. Overall, not bad; …

Day 1...super tight and non expressive nose and palate. Day 2...better...opened up enough to make it quaffable...this will be good but so tightly wound it needs decent cellar time...stash it for a while.

A decent everyday drinker - nice fruit (mix red and dark), smooth. Very good QPR.

I was surprised to see no prior reviews on this wine, so here goes. Cork in very good condition, came out easily with standard screwdriver. Ruby garnet color, no bricking visible. On the nose notes of cedar and reminded me of some old Bordeaux wines. First tastes were a bit disappointing with restrained fruit and a very slight hint of a green pepper on the finish. But with decanting and breathing the wine opened up very nicely after about three …

In a surprisingly good shape. Very balanced and luckily not too mellow Merlot. Nice spice, plenty of coffee and black olives. Nicely ripe plum, too. Decent length. Bottle came from very good storage.

轻咬后有些许涩味, 摇动5秒后玫瑰+蜂蜜,异常香甜,浓郁而充满诱惑,非常饱满且涩味全无。酒精味很少,稍涩。后味很少,单宁刚刚好

The age has really helped this wine. Quite big for a Merlot, almost Cabernet like. Rich and heavy, while still smooth and rounded, this one might have been a little tight in it's youth. There is still enough of that Granny Smith acid to affect the fruit. There are layers here, for example; noticeable French oak, the afore mentioned big acid, and, more tannins than expected. Even though these grapes have been off the vine for 6 years, there is …

To me, this Merlot is kind of "brooding" In comparison to the 2007, it is a little more laid back with the intense fruit forward, more subtle and subdued. It probably has more structure. I especially like the underlying, almost like ground cocoa, refined tannins that hold everything together. There is lots of blueberry on the nose and palate. The extra bottle age has really integrated the oak and the alcohol. There is nice feeling of concentration and intensity, but …

Pop 'n pour. Solid wine showing red currant and a bit of smooth oak. Fairly simple flavors, but certainly a decent drink and enjoyable at this stage.

Hmmm, I tend to like the higher end Mondavi wines, but this one was just a bit off. I also tend to like High-End Napa Merlot, despite the bad reputation (Love Buccella for example), but this one was just a bit off, especially the sweet corn notes make me not to like this wine too much

Nice purple color with clarity. Medium bodied wine that may need more time to age. The aromas were not distinctive tonight. Fruit but nothing special. The finish is short and the tannins were medium to strong. Still a good wine that paired well with Baked Ziti.

Popped and poured, could have used decanting for about an hour or so. Tart and tight initially but opened up nicely on the second glass. Nice deep purplein color, blackberries and blueberries present, inital strong tannic present to the palate but soften up over time. Nice go to bottle where you can be comfortable with the quality that Mondavi is known for.

Opened not decanted. Quick notes: 3rd bottle of the evening. After 2 cabs, I was surprised that this was showing like a Napa cabernet with good tannins and structure. However, the fruit seemed a little muddy to me (although it could have been my palate) with no components standing out. Fair to Good.

Dark red color. Nice bright cherry aromatics. Possessing sweet blackberry and blueberry fruit. Firm tannins. Vanilla oak dominates the mundane finish.

Well beyond optimum age. The cork was depressed, and the wine was slightly oxidized. It had lost all fruit and was flat. While it was technically still drinkable, why bother. It's possible this bottle wasn't properly stored for some of its life.

Decanted about 40 minutes before serving. Solid nose of blackberry and a hint of leather. Medium bodied with a tannic bite; could use some additional aging. Finish is brief but enjoyable. Would purchase again and lay down for another 3-5 years.

Kinda Blah wine, nose was so mild compared to the 2004. Nice black cherry merlot flavor but the wine lacked character and depth. I am afraid this wine has moved straight into all the other food store wines at this price, such a shame.
