Pierre Sparr Riesling Schoenenbourg

The nose is still very fresh, with blossom, honey, ripe yellow fruit and minerals. The racy acidity is supported by lots of material: yellow fruit, honey, stony minerals. There's a hint of petrol in the aftertaste. This is more open then the 1996 but has still a future. It improves remarkedly in the glass and is lasersharp and rather complex. A very good Alsace from an unheralded, look down upon grower.
