Castello del Terriccio Tassinaia Toscana IGT

Coming back to a third vintage, quite consistent with previous tasted vintages, made from a blend of CS with Merlot, aged for 16 months in tonneaux. Nothing spectacular but a well balanced SuperTuscan. Medium+ ruby colour. Medium+ intensity aroma of cherries, tobacco, dried rose petals, underbrush, raspberry jam hints. Medium body, elegant and lean yet with good grip and concentration, leathery red fruit flavours with smoky hints, medium+ finely grained firmly structured tannins, medium+ acidity.

Opened and served. Quite the entry level of good quality supertuscan . Good ripe dark fruit, rich , round but gladly not pushed, overoaked or overdone which helps the wine. Not the most complex and with a few off tune elements but a very solid 89 nonetheless.
