La Festa del Barolo 2021 Barolo Masterclass (The Pool, New York) : Light ruby center. Low pitched herbal nose. Medium weight. Red fruit nose. Nicely ripe fruit, light citrus, moderate tannins and earth. One of the simpler, more anonymous wines of the tasting, but again the fruit is juicy and it did improve in the glass. Competition was too tough though.

Festa masterclass 2026 A beautiful beguiling nose. Red fruited and floral with lovely balsam, medicinal notes, spice and cooling herbs. Intense yet elegant on the palate with a sense of fleeting power, calm and harmony. Power and grace. Weightless intensity, filling the blank terms for contrasting power and grace I was really impressed with this wine. beautiful. Excellent length. A super effort for such a young producer. I'm impressed

Vivid and complex on the nose, with lovely aromas of sweet red fruits, red cherry and strawberry, fresh roses, licorice, mint tea, orange candy, cranberry... Super elegant and fine on the palate, such a light touch here, this is unusually fresh and delicate for Barolo, yet there's depth and texture to spare, ethereal and plush at once, tannins are so refined and crescendo on the finish, as one would expect with a serious Barolo, they coat the palate and leave …

A density with a serious core of vibrant fruit lined by a dark edge and truffles. Graphite, tar, tabacco. A lacing of fine perfume. Serious presence here. More immediate generosity and playfulness than many Monforte's. Purity with personality. Complete and harmonious. Optimised for the year. Fine acid. Beautifully handled proper Nebbiolo tannins that are refined at this youthful age for a Monforte. Grip of quality. Sensual, long and flowing finish. A special wine with plenty more to come.

PnP with friends over an hour. The 2021 Barolo Perno from Ca' di Press stands out for its unusually sweet and vibrant character, unlike almost any other Barolo I’ve tasted. The nose is lifted and striking, bursting with high-toned aromatics and a vivid strawberry candy note that calls to mind a Jolly Rancher—pure, inviting, and energetic. On the palate, red and purple fruits take center stage, wrapped in silky, polished tannins that glide from start to finish. There’s a focused …
