The years were not kind to this bottle rescued from 10+ years of storage in a cabinet in my parents' living room. Drinkable but not worth drinking, and down the drain it went. I suspect this wine was meant to drink young for up-front fruit flavors, at this point nothing left but bitter tannin and alcohol. Would have rated 75 pts, but leaving blank so it doesn't pull down ratings of bottles with better provenance.

Aerated pours and eleven years produced a better result than I expected from what had always others been a brash and unappealing wine. The tannins were perfectly tame, as was the previously overly sweet fruit. Of course, the last one was the only one that was enjoyable.

After time in the bottle, still tight and tannic, some fruit, medium body, undistinguished.

Color: Purple Garnet Nose: Berry, spice, slight earthiness with a light oak Palate: It contained fruit flavors, smooth tannis and some spice that are pretty well balanced. Finish: Medium bodied with very smooth tannins and lingering finish Decanting: Popped and poured which means it is in prime drinking age. Thoughts: This is a wine we keep in our cellar for many occasions. Great QPR.

I opened this for my wife to cook with, and found it surprisingly quite drinkable. Cassis, plum, berry, leather, tobacco, cedar notes. High, smooth tannins. Full bodied, nice balance of fruit, tannin, acidity, alcohol. Maybe it took til now to blossom...

Just like previous reviews we have done on other vintages. This is a very good Claret that can be used with a wide range of foods. This is a wine we always keep in our cellar.

Raspberry, toasted oak, black pepper, and slight floral notes on the nose. Strong grippy tannins, giving way to blackberry, plum, tobacco and black licorice on the palate. Leather, black pepper and earth on the finish. Very dry with no apparent sweetness. Has an earthy quality with obvious but not over powering oak. The Cabernet does not dominate in the blend but is nicely rounded off by the other varietals. We sampled with a selection of Brix chocolates and highly recommend …

Dry, and not much to nose. I am not that impressed as I hardly remembered this wine. That means that the impression it made was not amazing.

A decent everyday drinker. Consumed over two days. First day had really nice fruit and good mouth feel. Second day had gone a bit flat.

Caught up in a cool looking bottle that contained very average wine. This over fruit off balanced offering tasted nothing like a BDX. At 8 bucks I could live with this wine, however I payed close to $15 and will look elswhere at this price point.

Basic vino. Bouquet: White peppers, pine needles, soft tannins, slight acrid wet stone scent. Palate: Wet, lacking structure, silky texture, no prominent flavor notes.

Thin with some oakey toast and not much real fruit flavor. No nose or finish. Unoffensive and easy enough to quaff, but not worth the calories if something better is available. Even at $15 a bottle it is not worth my buying again.

Dark purple and nearly opaque in the glass there were strong initial notes of cherry, blackberries and spice. Modest tannins accompanied the fruit on the palate. Pleasant finish. Opened up on subsequent days to include light strawberry and raspberry hints. Tannins smoothed out considerably as well. Quite nice!

Undistinguished mid-weight red that's better with some aeration; ready. A gift, and would not buy.

Much preferred the '07 to this '08. This is just a no good year for this usually good QPR wine.

Really good for a $12.00 wine. Boysenberry, sour cherry, licorice, and charcoal. Definately opened up as it warmed. Worked very well with beef. Tannins started to firm up after about 30 minutes. Short finish.
