Opaque purple in color, this wine reveals white pepper, cassis, cola and dark plum on the nose. The mouth feel is fuller bodied with more pepper and the slightest spice. Once again I am completely floored by the quality of this wine for the price. There is a profound depth to the aromas of pure blueberry fruit, cassis, graphite, and mahogany that immediately indicate low yields and superior wine making techniques. These aspects are also reflected in the gently chewy palate, where smooth, ripe blackcurrant flavors show great density along with meaty tannin, pepper and violets.
