Made from grapes harvested very late - as lates as November. Macerated for 45-60 days with the skins, depending on the lot and the vintage. Aged for 18 months in French oak barriques and larger barrels up to 2500 liters in size. Followed by 12 months of aging in bottles. 15,5% alcohol. Moderately translucent and still quite youthful black cherry color. Cool and somewhat concentrated nose with aromas of ripe dark berries, juicy red fruits, some alcohol, a little bit …

This is good shit! Heavy and lots of tannins. Did not use the decanter. Couldn't wait...

Very rich full bodied. Lots of tannins in a great way. Very good. Color is dark but slightly Amber Orange. Texture like a full-bodied CA Cabernet. Very dry on the tannic side but I like it that way. Balanced for me not too acidic not to alcoholic.

2015 Villa d’Este Wine Symposium - Kelly and Kevin's excellent adventure; 11/3/2015-11/9/2015 (Villa D’este, Lake Como) : Impenetrably black color and the nose to match. It reminds me the black wine of cahor or Californian petit Syrah. Inky black fruit, strong note of oak, ink and black spices. Excellent concentration, intense inky black fruit driven palate impression, noticeable acidity and mouth puckering tannins. It is so tannic that it numbed my tongue.
