Kutch Wines is one of my favorites regarding Pinot Noir from Sonoma Coast. Elegant wines with great finesse at a still very good price considering the quality. After double decanting, everything is in place, red and black cherries with wonderful minerality, nice acidity. It never gets jammy when Jamie Kutch makes his Pinot Noir, this particular their standard Pinot Noir is often ready to drink immediately or the year after, when it is released.

PnP, would benefit from a short decant as it was initially tight, but then opened quickly. Aromas of raspberry, cherry, spice, blackberry and stems. I bought just a single bottle of the 22 SC (my other purchases are mostly on the single vineyard cuvees). I opened the wine yesterday, am working through it over 3 days, but will pause tonight to write the note as it seems like the air has revealed the wine sufficiently. Another bottle, another day! Again in the purple fruit spectrum but today what rings for me is a boysenberry, and evokes almost a boysen fruit pie filling. Not decadent or thick but richly expressed. There is acid here, as with the bottle last night, with the same juicy tone. My summation of 22 Bohan is juicy purple fruit with a delicious quality. Opened a few hrs ago. This is purply in fruit tone. Initially seemed very fruit centric but air really helped to chase into the open the acid, which brings a cherry note with it. As for the stems, there is the deft seasoning they create—just a light herbal touch with some metal shaving aroma. Finishes with light to moderate grip and a gamy note from the stems. Still showing some primary fruit too so age will be positive here.

Glassware: Riedel Burgundy Prep: Pop n’ pour Just plain delicious. Blue fruits, sage, violets, and a touch of pepper. Juicy with fresh acidity and refined tannins.
