Havent checked in on this for four years. Last btl of several I have been working on for almost a decade. It is now very secondary with tons of nuts, minerals, dried orange peel, chalk, decaying flowers, and rose water. Sl oxidized but not at all unpleasant. Still thick and more glyceriny than I typically like but no denying the tremendous character and terroir of this wine. Finishes a bit drying and hot with EtOH being more prominent. This is …

From memory. Slightly botrytised nose of honey and apricots. Rich mouth. Long off-dry finish but with a more noticeable dose of residual sugar than the 08. Good, but for my tastes the 07 shows much better with better balance and greater complexity.

My last one of these, and again use it in Osso Bucco. The weight of this along with the tremendous fruit and high alcohol make it perfect for the hearty Osso Bucco but this is still way to over the top to drink on it's own. The acidity is also overpowering now, which I hadn't noticed in the past. The high alcohol continues to be noticeable as well. I still do like it, but it just doesn't have the balance …

Rich and zesty, with not unpleasant viscosity. Some oxidation and more noticeable alcohol, but still enjoyable.

Consistent with my last bottle from almost 2 years ago. There is a weightiness/glycerin here (presumably from the barrels) that is not my style for verdicchio, but there is no denying this is well made and there is excellent fruit in the bottle. The touch of oxidation is there, but it is not too distracting. I continue to think this has another 5 years in it given the weight.

Not as sweet as I feared, nor did I notice the 15% alcohol; served well chilled and worked nicely with late night sushi, boiled shrimp and sautéed scallops.

Nose of nectarines and tangerines. Very rich mouth feel. Late harvest nature of the wine becoming more apparent with each passing year in the cellar. The finish has become long and sweet, primarily from the underlying fruit and mature wood tannins, although I'm also beginning to suspect a touch of residual sugar. Treated the wine as a dessert wine at the end of a meal, and did well in that role. Showed best from a very large Riedel Bordeaux glass.

Spicy, rich and minerally. Someone else noted that it tastes like Condrieu and I would agree. Full body with a viscous texture. Tropical fruit flavor, pear liqueur, grapefruit, tangerine, lanolin, stone, and spice. Slightly oxidized. No sweetness other than what's naturally integrated in the fruit and the high alcohol is unnoticeable. Very refreshing for such a complex and heavy white wine.

From memory, forgot to enter TN. A bit better than last time. No need to wait. David_T TN says it all for me.

A touch oxidative, a bit viscous (but no noticeable alcohol) at 15%, this shows complex tropical fruit/stone fruit/herb/mineral notes with moderate acidity. Good structure, this should last several more years. My not be for everyone's palate but I like it.

Rich, but not oxidized. This TN is a bit from memory, so I am afraid I cannot provide more detail. My sense is that this wine should be consumed sooner rather than later. I have two more and I expect/hope to drink them within the next year. Just saw Dave_T's TN -- he said it much better than I could.

This remains very interesting. Green vegetal notes, nice acidity, and nutty finish. Slight oxidation here that was not unpleasant and added an extra layer. Still not convinced barrel fermentation does this wine any favors. I imagine this has another 5+ years of nice drinking in it.

Has declined substantially since last tasting three years ago. The nose is still there, the rich mid palate is still there. But without the acidity the finish has become a bit flabby, shorter and less interesting. Also, just a touch too much sweet is showing on the finish now. Still a very decent wine. Hopefully this is just bottle variation and not a sign that I waited too long with the remaining bottles.

Agree with others, unusual white with high alcohol . Golden , honey, grapefruit , citrus , white pepper. Need to be served cold.

This bottle was better than the first, partially because of a better food pairing (pasta con cavolfiore). Big aromatics leaning tropical, full bodied, a bit too sweet and a tad hot, long minerally finish. Not really my style, but as noted this worked quite well with the food.

As others have written, this has a lot of weight and alcohol because of the late harvest. In style, it's more like a Smaragd wine from the Wachau. An interesting effort and good drinking if you are prepared for and like the style. But in general I agree with those who prefer a Verdicchio that is lighter and more lively.

Thought this was outstanding. It had a nose of sweat (but in a good way) and grapefruit like citrus. Rich and minerally with a substantial mouthfeel. Had over the course of a four course dinner and it matched well with everything. Could not have enjoyed more.

This is a unique wine made in a unique style and more likely to appeal to a wine geek than a casual imbiber of white wine. Medium (-) gold in color. The nose is complex and intense with ripe citrus, tropical fruit, honeysuckle, honey, stone and herbs. The oak treatment, if any, is unobtrusive. The nose is developed, with a hint of oxidation. The palate is dry, but with a touch of residual sugar. The acidity is medium plus, as …

Silky smooth. Dark color. Didn't get the late harvest aspect. Decent enough Verdicchio. I thought some of the other Sartarellis were better - but this wasn't "bad."
