Bichi No Sapiens

Really wanted to try a Bichi wine. Don't care for dolcetto, but bought it anyway, my mistake. PnP and better on night one. Second night the dolcetto grapeyness was too pronounced for me. Seemed like a well made wine, and will look for other wines from Bichi.

They say it's an unknown grape, but it's Dolcetto.. Underripe red fruits, spice and cedar. Needs decanting, I thought.

Opened one hour in advance. Black pepper and cassis aroma. Gentle cherry flavor up front, minerals and black fruit in the dark finish. Clean, good backbone, forward flavors, some complexity. Very good, though a little pricey.

Mystery variety, is this Carignan, or is it Dolcetto? Dark berry, black cherry, earlier it felt in restrained blue fruit territory. Great bottle, some purple to the color makes me think Dolcett, but this wine feels not unlike a Carignan from 4 Monos a bit... Vineyard owner's last name is Sapiens. Vineyard owner thinks it's Dolcetto.
