Good example of what a gewurztraminer should taste. The nose is floral with exotic fruits at the end, in mouth the wine does not entirely live up to the expectation.... The wine is still thoroughly enjoyable but is a bit thin in the end lacking a bit of panache.

Great bottle of wine. Very well balanced, tropical fruits on nose and pallette: perhaps lychees. Great acid balance and superb with food. Not an over the top gewurtz' - restrained. Just creeps into 90 for me. I've stored this in a temp controlled cellar since purchase.

This wine was spicy, mid bodied with hint of tangerine flavor, and an annoying bitter finish on the upper and posterior palate. It seemed syrupy sweet while in reality it was dry. I didnt appreciate good acidity, and overall it struck me as being akin to drinking from a murky pond (imagining that for reference a similarly priced Riesling would be a fresh brook). I didnt find it particularly good with food either, but to my surprise the tangerine flavors …

I had suspected this was best drunk as a youngster and this tasting confirms. Aromatics are strong and very lifted with musk and cut stone but the fruit weight doesn't really kick in. Quite mild almost too dry for the style although still a very competent wine. I don't think it will get much better, and this in itself is a little surprising given the propensity of the Trimbachs to age magnificantly.

Drank at Flower Drum, Melbourne from a 375ml. Just the perfect pairing with Cantonese food. I thought this was elegant and lovely, if just a bit simple. Pure, yellow gold colour, with a sweet perfumed nose of white flowers and honeysuckle and a little citrus lift.
