Dark and opaque in the glass, full body. Friendly bouquet of ripe blackberries, some grapey action, notes of meat, and vanilla. A little concern from the nose that this is going to candified, but thankfully it is not and shows a measure of poise in flavors of rich forward dark fruit, some mint and earth. Medium low acid, and as stated by another reviewer, soft mildly drying tannins unfurl with repeated sips. Medium length finish. Overall a pleasant PS well …

RUSSK Don't remember the nose. Full bodied, thick. Tamed but drying tanins. Tastes of toasted barrel and carmel. Reminds me a Walla Walla Syrah.

Dan's face after smelling this wine initally was pretty funny, higher intensity smells with a distinct meatiness, buttered shellfish (surf and turf as Dan would say) Lots of juicy black fruit in here too. Heavy on the palate, very fruit forward, easily pleasurable, enough acidity to carry along the fruit with some light tannins. Sollllllllid wine at the price point, a weekend bottle and a weekday bottle price.

This is showing steak and buttered crab meat on the nose along with blackberries in the background. They're probably in a bowl, sitting in the middle of the table away from your plate. Pop and poured. Big dense purple black. Huge blackberry cobbler nose. Big spicy fruit very smooth mouth coating tannins. Medium long finish. Enough acidity and structure so that it is not cloying. Super enjoyable. Huge bargain!

I don't get the comments about this being lightly extracted - an ounce in my glass is very dark, opaque enough that you can't see printed text (or anything else) through it. What it is is filter, or heavily fined -- it's very dense but has high clarity/low suspended solids. What it isn't is cloudy or overripe, the latter evidenced by the lowish alcohol. This PS doesn't seem watered back either, but rather made from ripe but not over-ripe fruit. …

A firm and tannic offering of Petite Sirah that does not match well with its name. I found the wine pleasant but the idea of heavy concentrates of berries, fruits and grapes brought to the imagination by Crusher was not evident in the wine. This is a good, light tasting wine with less concentration and structure than one would desire.

Fantastic Petite Sirah for $12.99. Deep purple color, with enticing aromas of sweet huckleberry pie, herbs, and eucalyptus. Flavors of smoky hucklebery and blackberry, with high notes of blueberry, make this wine juicy and fruit forward without being cloying or jammy. Allspice-inflected finish. Relatively low alcohol (13.5%) for Petite Sirah, this is a stunningly good example of the variety for the price.
