Rich medium plus body. Love this wine, not too fruity for sub $10 red.

We tasted this over 3 days, out of the decanter. At first it was reticent and unforgiving, but the time and air helped release some pretty decent flavors and aromas for an under $10 California Cabernet. Decidedly not fruit forward, most of the flavors are rooty, sappy and earthy. Some raspberry and grapey aromas. Moderate dark color. Slight caramel and vanilla with the mostly mild red fruit. Medium bodied. Just a touch artificial.

Reminds me of the J Lohr from the same year - very drinkable low priced Cabernet.

Shows nice control. Not an oak monster. Fruit forward but just shy of jammy cloying.

Popped and poured; drank a glass during an hour before dinner (no apps) then paired with roast chicken and baked yams. Good; a little above what I would imagine to be an average red wine, though my experience with average red wines is pretty scant (I am very lucky), but I don't find this wine interesting enough to write about.

The nose is empty. There is some flavour, not bad for a $16 bottle of wine. But a short aftertaste. I wouldn't buy it again. I am nonplussed. Average (77.5).

Decent balance. Oak and vanilla on the nose. Palate with hints of cherry, blackberry, and dark full fruit flavors. Great choice for a "drink now" Cab.

Good. Dark garnet red color. Medium nose of dark fruits, vanilla, and light spice. Medium-bodied palate consists of blackberries, light black pepper, and light oak. Medium length finish. Decent complexity for the $10 price – decent QPR. Drink now.

This is a good quality wine. Not too tannic. Fairly smooth. Not too fruity, especially for a California wine.

Cherry and blackberry aromas with lots of plum, black cherry, and smooth oak in the palate. Smooth juicy aftertaste. An easy-drinking, soft Cabernet to go with a wide variety of foods.

For the price, it's drinkable. One note fruit with a touch of pepper. Not bad for weekday dinner when you only want a small glass.

With cheese, stuffed grape leaves, sausage: drinkable. It afforded no great pleasure, but I drank from a plastic glass at a campaign strategy session (which was another distraction), so that's hardly fair to the wine. I wouldn't call it much above average, though.
