Burgess Port

Wednesday at Heidi's : This proved to be an excellent finish to the evening, as the flavor profile was fairly consistent with many of the CdPs -- dark fruit, prune, spice, and earth. Surprisingly light on the palate for a "port," but has interesting flavors. I would guess this is past peak, as the fruit intensity is faded.

Tasting Group Dinner - Chateauneuf at Heidi's (Heidi's, Minneapolis) : A bottle that Matt bought many years ago. This was very intense, showing a lot of cinnamon and pruny fruit. Perfumed, and very authentically Port-like. A great match with dessert.

Bought two bottles at Burgess today, walked outside and opened the first, sipped while overlooking the lake below, nose of fig, plum, and raisin, more of the same on the palate, soft yet mouth coating, tasty, medium body, and mediu/long finish.
