Pale ruby Medium + Intensity with aromas/flavors of violet, rose, blossom, strawberries, raspberries, red cherry, dry Mediterranean herbs. A touch of leather. Developing. On the palate the wine is dry with medium + acidity and tannins ( nice and integrated), high alcohol and medium body. The intensity is medium+ and the finish is long. The quality is very good with potential for outstanding. Accessible now with primary and secondary flavors. Can drink now potential for aging. A great wine

Gallinotto is an official vineyard located within the Giachini MGA. It’s notably unique due to its exposure and soil composition relating much closer to Rocche dell’Annunziata, just a bit lower in altitude. FWIW, I have found that the Barolo of Mauro Molino get more interesting with each passing vintage; presenting a really smart value. Popped and poured; enjoyed over a two hour period. The 2019 “Gallinotto” pours a bright garnet with a translucent core and a slightly orange rim. Medium+ …

Nose: Lilac, roses together with strawberry, raspberry and Blackberry. After some time in the glass aromas of herbs and meadow flowers appeared. Palete: rose/lilac perfume first then the red fruits and herbs. Long taste. Firm tannins and acidity give structure in a pleasant and not too tough way. Drinkable now but will improve over time.

Classic barolo nose from la morra. Leather, asphalt, rose, eucalyptus, sherry vinagre, cherry. Usual acid but enough fruit to round it out.

Prince - Barolo 2019 (Prince Sydney, 40 Hansard Street) : Perfumed red cherry fruit, slightly ashy note. Juicy, fleshy, fruit then soft but pretty talc textured tannins dry out the palate. Fruit persists. Yum.

This surprised me. It has become a really terrific wine showing complexity and structure. At this price point I wish I had a dozen more but alas this is the end

Strawberries dried? and floral tones but also minerality and chalk. Taste: a little closed but opened up more than the first wine. Red fruit (strawberries, raspberries), light perfume (spring flowers), light dry chalkiness in the background which diminished with time in the glass. Medium to long taste. good now but big in a couple of years.

Atlas Wine Store Italian Industry Tasting (2019 Barolos) : Very pure fruit, least amount of oak of the four Barolos, almost unnoticeable in comparison to the others. I actually find the oak to be a great stylistic difference in the Molinos wines today, as other producers do the traditionalist style better than this bottle. 90-91 Note: Mark says Mauro Molinos use small barrels (500L compared to 2000-4000L) of French New Oak. All Molinos showing good lift and richness, not austere …

It’s in a bit of a funny spot. Raspberry and soy sauce but still seems tight around the edges or is it flattening out? The nose indicates the former so I think a couple of years will tell the tale. Could be wrong…

Pleasant aromas of road tar, dried strawberry, barrel spice, red cherry, tea tree oil and mushroom. Nice and juicy on the palate, with slightly rugged tannins. A bit of pastry dough, orange peel and espresso bean mark the finish. Fruit seems like it’s starting to tire out. A nice Barolo that’s drinking in its apex, but not mind blowing. From their plot in the Berri cru in La Morra. 18 months in French oak barriques. Think I would’ve like this …

Vinturi aerated with a 1 hour decant. Prunes on the nose with some forest floor. Lt-med body. Plum palate with some toasted almonds. Tannins drying overwhelming any fruit. Not well balanced. Unremarkable finish. Disappointing overall. May be past its due date.

Strong tannins, floral and liquorice. Give it some time in the cellar and it will soften beautifully.

medium bodied, strong tannins, it took a full day after opening fot this wine to show its complex taste and long finish depth of taste; perhaps another 20 years will do it justice - but why release something if its not ready for another 25 years - I find that difficult to understand - and it is not a matter of impatience...14.5% content - a noble wine ...

Rather closed bouquet on opening. Generous mouth feel with concentrated fruit complexity that was mostly evident in the finish. After a day in the wine cooler it became brighter, the bouquet opening up and the concentrated fruit becoming more pronounced. The finish remained the best part. A nice and interesting wine if not spectacular.

I decanted the wine for three hours, poured it back into the bottle and followed it over two evenings. The wine was medium- to dark ruby in colour and offered flowers, some cherry, chewing gum, candies and pipe tobacco on the nose. On the palate the wine showed red and dark berries, cherry, chewing gum, some tea, spices, tobacco and some heat from the alcohol, paired with medium-plus to high tannin, medium-plus acidity and good length. It was very modern …

This cru did not show as well as the others. It seemed a little lighter, softer and lacking depth. Perhaps the order of the wines was off but the normale bottling seemed to be more structured and intense. Given the consistency of Molino and vintage, I would say this had some bottle variation going on. Still a lovely Barolo but failed to meet the standard set by its predecessors.
