Yeah, this is no where to be found, but this had been one of our favorite "bargain" Bruts until the price shot up over the last decade. It comes from one of the cooperatives in Champagne, located in the capital of Reims. It just was on sale at Total Wine, though, and I bought a case. Stay tuned. www.thedrunkencyclist.com

Was recommended to me by a wine store employee as an alternative to Veuve. Nope. Yeasty nose that I found disagreeable. Apple flavors were good but simple. Easy drinking but I will not buy again.

Perennial favourite to be enjoyed any time - clean crisp with hints of brioche and lemon. A good clean champagne

Consistently good with notes on citrus and apple with a hint of lemon. The fruit shows through with a bright sharp finish.

Retail $40. 40% Pinot Noir, 35% Pinot Meunier, 25% Chardonnay. Back in ancient times, when I was in grad school, Montaudon was my goto champagne, it was under twenty bucks at Total Wine and it was tasty. As the price crept up over the years, I explored other brands as the price differential was no longer that great. So this is my first bottle of the Brut from one of the better known cooperatives in Champagne in quite some time. …

Low budget mainstream champagne (18€) Apple with maybe hints of creme brulee. First impression decent, present acidity and bubbles. Bubbles mildly aggressive though. A bit weird aftertaste, slightly sweetish with a tiny bit bitterness mixed in. Not the best grapes here. There are way better champagnes at this price point.

We had tasted this before on 2019 and bought it for $30, after discount. We had it again at a tasting this evening and still liked it, even though we are not big on champagne. Very nice. Small, tight bubbles. Good sweet/acid balance. Dry, but not harsh. Price has really jumped up. Now listed at 41.99.

Good bubble, nice flavor, nice balanced of crispness with mouthfeel. Color a little bright for my taste. Certainly not bad for the price.

No formal notes. Great nose and froth. Taste won't blow you away, but it was a solid companion to our smoked salmon. I would buy again with the right TW coupon.

Even if it is claimed to be dominated by pinot noir from the Cotes des Bar on the back label and a previous TN here says this is only 25% Chardonnay, it is the latter that is decisive here. Clear yellow stone fruits are the main impression, with dusty, chalky vanilla kicking in. Really modest in acidity and hence not ideal to accompany a seafood dish. The bubbles are also quite modest. A true middle of the road champagne, less …

Medium yellow gold, nice aroma and creamy mouthfeel. Citrus, mostly grapefruit and some pear and perhaps sweet apple. Medium to long finish with medium to hight acidity, just the right amount of minerality and nuttiness. Really enjoyable.
