Very delicate light body. Would be good as a chilled red summer wine.

Spice, flower and eucalyptus scent. Medium body, red currant, clove and mineral flavor with zippy tannins and a long finish.

At sweet spot. Mellow and fruity. Nice pairing of this aged, light Bordeaux wine with Camembert cheese.

A dinner with Metaverse thought leaders (The Athenaeum, London) : Approachable and with appealing fruit on the nose, although I found this a bit dark and heavy on the palate. Fine with chateaubriand but a bit much on its own afterwards.

Beautiful color out of the bottle with an amazing bouquet of ocean air and fresh fruit and red roses. The tannins are elegant and not overwhelming like some bordeaux’s while the fruit tastes of cherry, raspberry and blueberries and is still present and pleasant after 9 years. This bottle is an amazing value and a great everyday wine.

Approachable lightish claret but good character. Red fruits nose, quite polished wine, shows some southern medic earthy red fruit character. Nice early drinking wine.

Lots of beautiful Cabernet fruit. Really right in the pocket in terms of smell and taste. Developing that mocha and dark fruit character to it. From the young vines. And they do have a replanting scheme to the vines across the estate. Not aged all in barrel. About 50% in vats, 50% in barrel 2 - 3 years old. The pathway to Cantemerle.

Decanted an hour. Lean with tart fruit and floral notes. Good structure but a little green and under ripe. Drink now-2023

Smooth and supple, right in the prime, black cherry on the nose, just opened and ready to go. Pretty.

Just opened, a touch grassier than I remember it, but still the mocha is there. Yeah, eases into the mocha - Margaux - sense of itself.

This is the second wine of Ch.Cantemerle, of which I have fond memories from visits to my parents in the 60s and 70s. This does not live up to those memories but hopefully the Grand Vin '12, of which I also have some bottles, will. Nose of red fruit, especially raspberry, with a touch of grilled meat and vanilla. Medium bodied palate with the same flavours but somewhat simplistic and raw with more marked acidity than ideal for balance. Maybe …
