Wafting above the red fruit character is a note of greenness - a touch of a green peppercorn spiciness. Palate has more red fruit notes with a touch of spice. A savory quality and just a touch of a manipulated quality to it as well. Average in quality, average in value if at $18.

This wine is even better than it was when last tasted a little more than a year ago. Deep ruby in color, it continues to offer aromas of kirsch, garrigue, black raspberries and allspice. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, has low-to-medium acidity, medium-weight silky tannins and nicely integrated alcohol (listed as 14%). The flavors mirror the nose and the middle palate is dense. Eagerly reassessed after such an impressive initial showing, this bottle did not disappoint. The olfactory and gustatory experiences were comparable to those outlined in my 10/4/14 note. Amazing QPR! Drink now-2019.
