Paired with a grilled rib eye seasoned with a bit of EVOO and salt and pepper. A little outdoor dining on a great night by the ocean. The pairing was everything I was hoping for. A nice deep dark color with a hint of earthiness on the nose. It was smooth with an enjoyable finish. For the price I was more than pleased.

At first I was not that keen on this wine - it was a bit tannic and harsh, but over the next hour this really grew on me. This is a fantastic example of of a crunchy, tannic and full bodied red that needs hearty food. Dark sweet fruit held off with good, tarte tannins and a slightly earthy taste give this wine good balance. this wont get any better - it needs to be drunk in the next 2 …
