Wine was a little shut down upon opening and really didn’t start to come alive until it had been in the glass for over an hour. It was excellent when I opened a bottle in March but this one did not quite get there. I don’t think it is past its prime but it is currently shut down. Flabby. Past its prime. Acid is non-existent. Some fruit but way too round. Decent finish.

Initially, this was quite restrained. It was hard to coax out any nose, and was muted on the palate. After about an hour and a half open it did open up a good bit, but remained somewhat more reticent than a bottle a few years ago

Dark ruby with lilac nose. Bright purple fruit, medium body with a bold acid component and some stemmy chewy tannins. This is a little bolder and has more fruit than AFWE, but it is so clean and bright that I am not complaining. The wines from the Amity-Eola Hills are some of my favorites and this is right up among them. My first Bjornson and not my last. Some cherries, pomegranate, a little cola and cedar.
