Prior bottle was 20 months ago and my notes were quite similar. Peach and white apple on the nose along with a strong lemon streak. Between light and medium bodied with pear and melon upfront, moving to white apple through the middle. As it warms, adds some white peach towards the back that gets more and more round as the wine opens up. Lemon, other tart citrus notes and structural acidity on the back and through the finish. Overall, has …

Underbar och frisk nos. Underbar brödigt, tropiskt och med hint av honung. Fin gul frukt med hög syra.

Crisp on the palate with red apple character, lively and fleshy on the palate. Works at $20 or so.

Prior bottle was just over a year ago and this bottle showed noticeably better, but still in line with what I'd initially anticipated. Good aromatics on the nose this time with lemon accented peach along with some background white apple notes. Still between light and medium bodied but with a more open and expressive front side showing white apple, pear and even some melon notes. Mix of white peach and white apple through the middle with good depth and a …

Purchased for $20 at the PLCB in Philadelphia. 100% Chenin Blanc. I had just arrived in what I consider my hometown, Philadelphia, with no plans but starving. I decided to walk to a popular BYOB, stopping by the PLCB (the state-run liquor store) along the way. I realized a couple of things: I really miss much about my time in Philly. Except. The PLCB continues to be an unmitigated disaster. I did find this wine for twenty bucks (which means …

On the nose, tropical notes. Round and tasty, a bit milky with high acidity.

Almost nothing on the nose initially, but as it warms, gets much more aromatic with lots of citrus notes (particularly lemon) and minerals. Between light and medium bodied (13.5% ABV) with bright, slightly tart white apple upfront, moving to softer, more rounded and open apple through the middle with background pear notes. Lots of lemon on the backside along with acidity and a strong slate/mineral quality. Particularly for the price, there's a lot of complexity and character. Given how well …

Definitely a serious Vouvray for the price. A little fuller bodied and less acidic than the 2017. On opening it packs massive citrus aromatics, rich zestiness on the palate, honey, floral. With some air comes more ripe fruit notes and a nice stoney mineral note. Probably will drink the rest of my bottles over the next couple of years. I don't see this as a wine for longer cellaring.

Fresh herbs was the first scent I detected. I had smoked salmon with dill two days ago and it reminded me of the herbs on that. Ripe pear too. Pear also prominent among the multiple orchard fruits on the palette, with judged acidity and a nice finish. Great balance, I struggled to identify all the flavours, a flaw of me, not of the wine.

Medium straw fading to a silver outer edge. Mineral nose backed up by tart citrus fruits, lemon zest, gooseberry, green apple, and wet wool. Slightly herbaceous with freshly chopped green herbs - tarragon basil, and dill - with notes of pyrazines in the form of bell pepper and tomato leaf. Palate displays some weight and texture revealing a riper fruit profile than the nose with orchard fruits, white pear, stewed yellow apple, and quince.

Decided to try my hand at drinking a white wine for a change. Picked up a few bottles of this Vouvray for no other reason than nostalgia as it this type of wine recalls one of my favorite memories of our trip to France 20+ years ago. So anyway, I found the wine quite nice with aromas of peach, pear and apricot along with some floral notes and a bit of mineral. It was smooth with a nice lingering finish …

On the nose: saffron, vanilla, tutti frutti, preserved sweet pears and mineral notes. On the palate: hint of candy flavors (tutti frutti), maziparn, pricky feeling, high acidity. A very nice wine, need to buy more. Looking forward to see what'll happen after a couple of years in the cellar.

Dry, crisp with a bit of chenin weight, but only just. Mineral, green apple, citrus, pear. Nicely done, clean. Be interested in next bottle....

Agree with cuffthis re pear, quince etc on the nose, adding green apple and my wife thought pineapple notes as well. Lovely. Palate is very acidic and a strong mineral note emerges with air. Some sweetness that would likely balance well with the right food. Really liked it.

Light golden in color, this wine has plenty of minerality, just barely a hint of residual sugar, and good acidity. I can’t identify the other flavors on the palate but they are fruity. It’s a very classy wine at this price point.

Light gold in color, this wine shows pear, quince, honeysuckle and Mandarin orange on the nose. The mouth feel is medium bodied and brought very dry notes, high acidity and limestone, chalky undertones. The finish was medium with distinctive pear and citrus notes, bright acidity and good lift. 13.5% abv. Purchased for $18US, this is a well made wine that is very dry but still brings brisk acidity that frames the fruit well. An excellent example of dry Loire Valley …

Honeyed fruit. A really slight amount of sweetness that is well balanced with acid. Ripe stone fruit with citrus hints. Pair with slightly spicy food.

Blind Tasting (San Diego Wine Co.) : WAY too cold “Produced with chenin grapes on clayish, silicate soils, hardly harvested, [typically] this wine ferments 2 mos in barrels. It matures in tank with hits fine lees until spring. It has a good balance between acidity & a light R.S. which gives a natural, fresh flavor. With time the soil gives a mineral taste of flint stone.” N: Closed; Minerals, pears, poss peaches P: Med body; Very RNDISH entry with NICE, …

Spectacular value at $11. Just off-dry, with apple fruit, good acidity, and that waxy note I often find in Loire Chenin Blancs. I bet that this will just keep getting better (more complex) over the next 5-10 years.

Though detailed notes not taken, on the second night we picked up some pleasant melon and ripe tropic notes on top of the solid core that showed nice wet rock minerality on the mouth. Enough acid to balance a wide array of dishes and pleasant all on its own. Decent QPR.
