This is drinking really well and should stay at peak for several years if stored properly. Perfectly ripe dark fruit, herbal notes, silky texture and fresh acidity come together in classic Bordeaux style. Really nice balance for a wine at this level. It did drop off some on the second day after corking and storing in the fridge. Best on the first night. Oustanding value!

2023 vintage

Cheaparse Bordeaux on tour (Live Max Tokyo) : Blackcurrant and blackcurrant leaf, cedar, slight plums and sweet spice in support, touch of alcohol prickle. Juicy, fleshy, the dark fruits and leafy notes translate to the palate, powdery tannins, a little white pepper, touch of alcohol warmth on the finish. Yum at ten years old. Really good.

2015 vintage

Day one - fading ruby. Still primary fruited with black current and hints of blueberry. Soft Tanins although still present with some acidity. Day 2 - nose much more evolved and colour showing some bricking. Flavours evolved to more tertiary flavours, some pencil and sweeter black fruits, forest floor and hints of raisin. Very good for the price and probably time to start drinking up

Located in the far north of the appellation, this early-drinking charmer is loaded with supple, round, cherries, cocoa, and leafy herbs. Medium-bodied, forward, fruity and read to drink, this is going to be charming on release. Drink from 2026-2036. 89-91 Pts.

84-86 Punkte. Vom Barrique geprägt, deutliche Röstnoten, Rauch, angekohltes Holz, dunkle Frucht; weicher Auftakt, leicht trocknendes Tannin, dieses überlagert die Frucht, endet mittellang auf Kirsche und Cola. Sauber, aber etwas konstruiert (En Primeur Tasting April 2024)

A: Dark fruit, bark, leather T: Tart cherry, licorice Paired with Indian take-out surprisingly well. Decanted in glass.

2015 vintage

Purchased at Costco for $17. Entry level Medoc, drinkable but with no real excitement. Tasted like non-discript California merlot or red blend. With some air, this wine tasted and smelled of cherries. No secondary aromas or tastes. Tannins were coarse. Finish medium length. No different on day 2, after overnight refrigeration.

Nose: sweet grassy perfume, oxidative fruit and earth/farm; hints of cacao. Palate: tart cherries, strong acid, finishes with more tart red fruit. Great Bordeaux value.

Over two days. Solid but generally underwhelming for a Cru Bourgeois in this vintage. Red and purple berry notes, along with herbs and pyrazines on the nose and palate. Lean, a touch austere, but also over-extracted. A strange combination, particularly given the 13 abv. Best with food.

This is going to be a wonderful wine. Right now it has strong concentration of tannins and red fruit but quite integrated with excellent balance. Will buy a couple of cases at US$11 a bottle at Costco!

Deliciously mature, with hints of cedar and pencil shavings, not a lot of fruit left but sufficient hints to balance the tannin and produce a highly drinkable claret - just the thing with roast lamb.
